Artwork on the wall

Hi all,

I always find artwork in the main bedroom very important as it is always the first photo we list right? I bought it especially for this room during my holiday in Zanzibar. One of my family members had a very rude comment or opinion regarding the painting. According to the family member it might give the wrong impression to potential guests. I did not take the conversation further. We live in South Africa and this painting caught my eye and heart... Should I move it to the lounge rather?

It's a lovely painting @Elizabeth3289 . I don't see any reason for moving it.

I can’t see the painting

Hey @Elizabeth3289, I hope you don't mind but I added your photo of the artwork to your post, so that way fellow Hosts can view it easily and share their thoughts 😊

The bedroom is by no means the first room I show in my photos. I start with the outside of the property, in its surroundings. Then interior shots, then more outside views. When I book somewhere, I want to know what it looks like externally and its situation in relation to other places near it. If I don't see those views, I will book elsewhere.

@Elizabeth3289 , I’m not sure what wrong impression a guest might have of the painting. I agree with @Helen3 , the painting is lovely. Love the colors! If leaving the painting where it is causes you to lose potential bookings, you’ll never know…

Look at it this way.  If anyone thinking about booking your place is "offended" by this lovely piece of art, you do not want them as guests!

I mean no offense, just a  quirky sense of humor here... the only offensive thing I would interpret from the painting is that the subject could be laughing at the occupants of the bed 😉

You might go back and (kindly) ask that family member what "wrong impression" it could give guests. You are in Africa, it's local artwork, colors work well with the bed and linens 🙂 Love the vibrant colors !
