Bad Host

@Cloud1  you are the worst company ever.. Cloud9 company never refunded me the money from the deposit that I gave for an apartment that I was renting for 3 months and after paying almost $20000 to them

Because I had problem with the payment and couldn’t make the transaction (the amount was big and they didn’t accept it)

@Mike-And-Jane0 Will you get off the ladies case... You are starting to Harass her. Ok she booked off platform and she learned a valuable lesson. She booked off platform because long term stays are very expensive on AirBnb. I have rented apartments out for years and AirBnb is not the only place to rent apartments. She just ran into a scammer. Thats all, she learned a valuable lesson, NOW QUIT HARRASSING HER.

@Christina1408  Did you make a reservation and then cancel? I notice Cloud9’s cancellation policy on Airbnb is Strict, which means that you lose 50% if you cancel more than 48 hours after booking. Cloud9 may likely have the same policy on its own website.

If that’s the case, booking on Airbnb would not have helped you, as Airbnb is supposed to honor the host’s cancellation policy. You also wouldn’t be able to leave a review, since you never went to the property (at least I think you never went to the property).

Actually I was in the property for three months and decided to extend my stay for 1,5 month more.. Unfortunately something unprecedented happened and had to leave and that is exactly the point that they didn’t give me back the deposit, which was the half of the full amount that I used to pay monthly..

@Christina1408 So actually, if you had booked through Airbnb you would have been charged a similar amount per their cancellation policy for long stays.

@Mike-And-Jane0  Please stop harrassing the woman, she made a mistake not STOP HARRASSING HER. She is asking for help and she is warning other hosts. Give her a break.

@Nina75 She is actually, depending on the precise circumstances, unfairly accusing the host of fraud. In addition she is doing this on a platform that she chose to break the rules of (for whatever reason). It is not harassment to point this out - Yes the truth may be difficult to accept but potentially baseless accusations of fraud cannot be allowed to pass without comment.

You can keep your comments for yourself, since you don’t know what happened.. I repeat the only reason I wrote is to protect other people from doing the same.. I am not expecting anything from airbnb and know exactly what I did and what not.. Please if you are not aware of an occasion allow the accusations to pass without comment!

@Mike-And-Jane0 you obviously cannot understand the purpose of @Christina1408 's comment. We can see that she is not asking for money, she is not blaiming the Airbnb platform, her aim is none but to warn and inform people. This is exactly the purpose of the forum. The lady is trying to avoid other People to be treated the way she did. If you do not have anything useful or helpful to say, then it's better to say nothing. She is using the forum for it's exact purpose. To give feedback, info and warn others.

@Γεωργια4 @But she would have got the same “treatment” if she had used Airbnb. She won’t get a full refund if she choose to leave early on a long term stay. She would have had to pay for 30 extra days on Airbnb from the day she decided to leave. Please make sure to read what is actually posted.

@Sandra856 Have you every had to use the Host Guarantee... BELIEVE ME, ITS HARD GETTING REIMBURSED FROM AIRBNB AS WELL!!!

@Γεωργια4 Yes but is the warning warranted? As the story evolved it became clear that actually she had cancelled part of her stay. There is every likelihood she was not due any refund of money based on the cancellation policy in place.

@Mike-And-Jane0 Exactly. @Christina1408 If you book a long term stay  (28 days+) on the Airbnb platform and you choose (for whatever reason) to leave earlier than planned - you will have to pay for an extra month. Had you booked ON the platform Airbnb would have paid the host the money you had paid Airbnb.
So there is no difference unfortunately.
