Beach essentials and kitchen essentials in the amenities section.

Why on planet earth does airbnb add things to amenities that can not be edited?  When beach essentials is enabled it adds snorkeling gear.  Can not erase, customize. Nothing. When kitchen essentials is enabled it adds oil salt and pepper. Can't edit and remove anything. It's ridiculous. Who might know a hidden secret in editing that stuff? Why googled, AI answers it like it simple and with instructions how to remove items.  YEAH OKAY.  That's incorrect.

It's not possible to edit these "required" items I'm afraid and if you can't supply all the items mentioned, I wouldn't tick that box.  

Read here on the CC, that a host had ticked the beach essentials in the descriptive and the guest complained to Airbnb because there weren't any snorkels .  What happened? guest was given a 30% discount!  Better to under sell and then the guests have a nice surprise when they see beach towels included and/or a sun umbrella upon arrival. That's the option I've gone for anyway😉

Personally I feel that providing salt, pepper oil is not an expensive thing to include and very much appreciated I think by guests especially those staying only a few nights.  I've lost count of the number of times I had to buy these basics when travelling so it is something that I provide as a host.

Yes, agreed. Providing these amenities- outside of the snorkeling gear, lol - is a staple for our properties, like oil, salt, and pepper.  However, sometimes they are used up before a re-stock is put in place. For this reason, a surprise is better than a let down, you are correct, I still wish we could edit.
