Bifold closet doors

Does anyone know how I can lock my bifold closet doors so that guests cannot open them?

I use the Mechanical Number lock code Lock. It has a 4 numberic code which when put in one line, the lock opens.  So In case you want to give access to closet door, you can share the number code and He / She can open it.

Hi @Beverly327,
A quick fix is to use a bifold door lock that clips at the top no drilling needed. You can also add a simple slide latch or child-proof lock at the top of the doors. Both options keep guests from opening the closet but are easy for you to remove when needed.

Hi @Beverly327 -

we have an entry way closet that is a double door situation that we use for our personal storage.

We use a sliding u-lock - it's like a bike lock but slides so that it is tight around the door knobs.

Another option that we use on another door is like this: https://snapklik.com/en-ca/product/alise-hasp-lock-door-hinge-lock-padlock-clasp-latch-hinges-lock-f...

You could potentially have this cross between the doors and then add a padlock.

Or you could install one of those little sliding latches (like you see on a screen door - some allow for a padlock to be added.

Your hardware store might have some nice options to consider as well.

Good luck

Thank you!!

This is a great question @Beverly327 ! Are you planning to keep any valuable items in this closet, or just stuff like extra blankets and sheets?

Do let us know if there's an approach mentioned in the comments below, that you have already tried out previously.
