I had someone handle my hosting for my house for 3 years. I now want to host it myself. Can I switch and keep feedback?
I believe the answer to that is “no”. Reviews are based on the host, not the property.
I guess you could mention in your new listing something like “extensive history of 5-star reviews in the past”, but again, that would be misleading, since host performance is (and should be) an important part of the rating.
@David8438 It is basically the host that is being reviewed, not the property itself, so reviews and ratings are not transferrable. You could have the fanciest property in the entire state, but if the host didn't maintain the place well, let it get run down, didn't have it cleaned properly, dealt rudely with guests, etc, it would get lousy reviews.
Conversely, a super basic, nothing fancy listing can get consistent rave 5* reviews because it's squeaky clean and comfortable and the host is really attentive and has great hospitality skills.
That's why reviews are pegged to a profile, not the property.
