Our solution came by accident.

I always wanted to put a Xmas tree up for December. Asked my cleaner to as I'm not always there. But she ran out of time to decorate it, so she decided 10 years ago, is to provide the box of decorations with a sign encouraging kids to decorate the tree themselves. Guests love it, we honestly don't care how it looks.

So the first booking in that gets the empty tree decorates, but we leave the decoration box out so that the remaining Dec guests can do what they want. Then its just a pack down before NYE booking. Note its only tree decorations, we don't provide any other decorations for fireplaces or otherwise, because invariably guests use sticky tape and NEVER REMOVE IT. It is a hassle after a large group booking to go around removing sticky tape from everywhere when they put up streamers and balloons for parties etc.

Deocrating outside would actually be more of a hassle to go and collect it all being a large property, so we are happy for inside only.

Works for us!

Plus for the Xmas booking, we leave one wrapped small present under the tree - usually a pool inflatable toy as there is always kids in our Xmas bookings.

Hope this helps
