Christmas decor

Do any of you decorate your place for the holidays? I was thinking about doing something since I have it booked over Christmas

I normally just put a simple small Christmas tree up and that's it. Nothing big.

Ciao @Diana2915 ,

in Venice I decorated our house with an eco-friendly Christmas tree, two small nativity scenes and a beautiful Christmas star!

Happy Holidays!

Yes, and the decorations are minimal and very simple.  Just a small 2-3 foot tree with lights, and a table runner.

I always ask my guest if they want Decor because some don't want any.

This is our first year and I have put up three small tabletop Christmas trees, a vintage bulb wreath - in all green to match my theme, green charges under the plates, and some tabletop blow molds.  Simple.  I am thinking about garland and vintage blow mold candles on the deck....but I'm not sure how fussy i want to get.

Hello @Diana2915,

This is such a thoughtful idea—thank you so much for bringing it to our community! 😊

Many of our hosts have shared their opinions. Have you had the chance to read them? Have you made any final decisions about the decor?

We’d love to hear from you! 🌟

I just wanted to make it a little more homey feel but I did not want to go overboard so I bought a planted poinsettia and I’m going to put it on the table. That’s all I’m gonna do for now

Yes, I usually put up a Christmas reef on the door. Plus add a little decorated Christmas tree inside. These can easily be removed and tucked away by the guests should they find it distasteful. I find that I keep any communication simple with guests so don't usually add a query about their wish for Christmas decorations or not : )

Gee, after reading some replies, I wonder if I've either done too much or was not sensitive enough about guests who might object. I appreciate those who are able to respond to individual needs, but I don't live near enough to the property to easily change things out between guests.

I put up a wreath on the front door and a pre-lit tree with simple ornaments. I also put a little wintery something in each bedroom and living space. The house is in the Maine woods, so I stuck to decorative objects reflecting the natural character of the area - moose, pine cones, loons, etc.

I was careful to avoid any religious themes though I realize that a tree does convey religious observance to some. That said, I wanted to put up a menorah (electric, I don't allow candles), but didn't know how to ask if that would be appreciated.

You don't need 8ft tall Christmas tree, but simple decor will bring Holiday spirit. I decorated my living room starting December and plan to keep it until mid January. Here is mine.
