Hi Rebecca,

We used new products for furnishing as it reduces maintenance cost and if at all some damage is caused by guests, then we will have warranty for the products to claim.

I didn't even think about warranties on products @Hemavathy1 - that's a great point! Have you had any instances where you needed to replace any items and the warranty came into play?

@Hemavathy1 This has crossed my mind but I wonder if STR service violates the terms of most product warranties. Of course they'd need to find out, that's another matter.

Hello Rebecca. Thanks for opening this topic.

I always choose brand-new products for my Airbnb to ensure a top-tier guest experience. New furniture and appliances create a fresh, clean, and modern feel, helping attract positive reviews and repeat bookings. They’re also more reliable, reducing maintenance issues and guest complaints. Plus, a well-designed, cohesive space makes a strong first impression both in photos and in person.

For hosts considering their options, I recommend investing in durable, easy-to-clean furniture and prioritizing high-use items like beds and sofas. Shopping sales and bulk discounts can help keep

To be frank, I’ve noticed that most of my guests absolutely love my cozy couch. It’s one of the most complimented pieces in my space - perfect for relaxing after a long day of exploring! I guess that comfortable seating really makes a difference in creating a welcoming atmosphere. Have you found any particular furniture or appliances that guests rave about in your space?

We used a combination of two, and by all means we decorated the house ourselves.

my husband is a good carpenter which I designed the space and he did most of the wood work.

Electronics I would prefer them to be new, and linens together with towels.

Always with new products

I furnished my Airbnb with all new appliances, furniture, and bedding. The logic behind this was to minimize the risk of wear and tear for as long as possible and also to create  a clean, top tier experience for my guests.

I make use of platforms like Tiktok,Google Search and Instagram in my country where there is a ton of vendors and the pricing is usually very affordable and you will get discounts from wholesalers and retailers.

For my next airbnb i would consider buying old art work pieces so long as it's in good condition.

Furnishing a new place can get quite expensive if you purchase all new. We Furnished our place with a combination of old and new. I felt that the coach and beds were important to have new and that everything they relaxed on was comfy. So the linens and towels were all new. I did get an older dining set from someone selling and I reupholstered the cushions and it was so worth it. The dressers and were all older, some Just needed cleaning, others I restrained. The decor thru out the house was mixed also. I found such great things in flea markets, facebook marketplace and thrift stores. I have not regretted my decision to get old because we saved so much and the place looks just as beautiful and as welcoming as it would if it were all new.
