Hello everyone,
Creating a welcoming space for families seeking child-friendly listings can be a rewarding experience, as it helps expand the target audience for your listing. Do you consider your listing to be child-friendly? We'd love to hear from hosts who have taken steps to make their listings more suitable for families with children.
What amenities do you offer to make families feel comfortable and at home? Are there any safety measures you've put in place to ensure a worry-free stay for parents?

Hello, Paula! Yes I do have them. Set outdoors or in spare rooms. In my culture, children play outdoors. 😄
Hi there,
We have a pool for families to enjoy and a backyard with a gate so students can play safely. All cabinets are of high reach (away from children). All alarms, detectors etc. are properly working and can be of use.
Absolutely not. My two places are filled with antiques and other delicate objects.
And even though I've marked my listings as not suitable for children under 12, I still got a 16-day reservation for a family and, to my surprise, their 5yo. I couldn't say no and leave them in the streets, so I took them in. by the end of their stay I had some objects missing, my couch with crayon markings all over and glitter which I'm still trying to get fully rid of a month after they've left. my neighbour downstairs was furious over the stomping on my floor.
I then found out that a listing's age restriction information is tucked away at the bottom of the page and only timidly visible after a few clicks/taps, so I couldn't really blame my guests for sneaking in their child.
Hi Paula,
Aunt Sally's Place welcomes all family members. We provide a pack-n-Play and High Chair in addition to a quieter room away from the noisy living areas with bunk beds. We have secured the outlets and sharp corners to make them safer for small guests. We are always adding games, books and puzzles for a variety of age groups. We also have a large family friendly DVD collection to entertain all ages.
Your place looks lovely @Steve3868 😍. What is the average age of the children that you receive at your place?
No.
Not only does my property have stairs, it's also in the same location as our main house. Given our tendency to work from home a few days a week, we do not allow kids.
Hi,
We certainly allow children. We provides board games and tv channels (Disney+, etc) indoors. Outside we have a tire swing that almost all parents say their kids love. We have a ping pong table in the garage and a corn hole set. Plus we have plenty of beach toys and a fantastic wagon to haul everything to and from the beach - including kids if there’s room.
We do adults only.
Hi Paula,
we like kids and we think we have a child friendly listing. Do you mean anything specyfic? We have some games, PS3, kids books, big garden… The lake and the beach is just 42 seconds away on foot. What else is needed?
But we have some stairs, so small kids should not be left alone. 🙂
Yes!
Yes, we do.
We can do as young as infants (we added the amenities) and have seen a good amount of families come through this summer.
Yes. Our beach cabin is only about 1,050 sq. ft. w/a bigger and smaller bedroom . The small bedroom has a twin bed and a pack n play w/baby bedding. We have a high chair and baby/toddler dishes, silverware, sippy cups, etc. All the electrical outlets have safety covers. There are lots of kid book and games. We have a TV w/Disney and other kid programs. And a little TV -VCR and a big collection of Disney videos. We have beach toys and numerous child and baby sized life jackets. Our grandkids love coming over when we reserve it for our family, and we’ve had lots of praise from guests with kids.
Hi Paula, yes, our little Airbnb spot is very child friendly (and animal friendly too!)
One of the bedrooms is decorated for children with toys, books, animal pics on the walls and the bedding is cute and colorful.
We also combined a "computer/art/toy room" with bins of toys, board games, puzzles, art supplies, like paper, crayons, glue, play doh and a high table with stools.
I also ask the ages of the children arriving and pick out age appropriate toys.
We have a bed rail, play 'n play, portable highchairs, potty, gate, childrens dvd's available as well.
In the kitchen we have children's placemats and utensils and plates and bowls.
In the bathroom we have a fun kids step stool.
For outside we have different sized childrens chairs, games, beach toys and wagons to put all the things they need for a nice walk to the beach. We also supply marshmallows for the firepit, very important. LOL!! And lastly, I always have a little treat for the kiddies, usually a little toy. They love glow sticks!!!
Wow, @Nancy1456 , this sounds amazing! 😍 Would you like to share some pictures of the bedroom with decorations for children? I think this could bring inspiration for other Hosts trying to make their listings more child-friendly.
Not particularly young child friendly, it shared facilities, and just a double room
