Do you have a hot tub in your listing?

Hello everyone, 

We've often noticed hosts ask in our community, if it's a good idea to have a hot tub in the listing and whether having one attracts guests. While many hosts have said it's an additional amenity that's attractive to guests, some have debated the cleaning and maintenance aspect of it.

So I am curious to know—do you have a hot tub at your property? 🛁 If so, how has it impacted your bookings?

Do you find it a game-changer for attracting more reservations or just a nice extra?

Sure did! And it seems to be highly appreciated by some as they specifically have mentioned it in the comments. But thank you for double checking, it made mer sure I did and then I highlighted it in more of the pictures.

We do not have a hot tub. It would require draining and cleaning after every guest use, which becomes too much of a maintenance issue.

Hi @Joe2862 for sharing your thoughts! Cleaning and maintenance of hot tubs is definitely an additional task. Since you don’t have a hot tub, have you found any other amenities that work well for your guests and help make your property stand out?

Our number one mentioned amenity is the natural stream that flows behind our cabin. It's very soothing. We also have a wood burning fireplace. And we provide free firewood for both the fireplace and the outdoor campfire ring. We even prepare a fire with small kindling wood and paper to make it very easy. All the guest has to do is strike a match.

If a guest mentions they are celebrating a birthday or anniversary, we will try to surprise them with flowers upon their arrival.

This is definitely an attractive set up @Joe2862 😍 Having such a serene vibe to the listing definitely adds to a soothing experience for guests. 

The fact that you even go the extra mile to set up the fire and supply free firewood is such a generous and thoughtful detail! I am sure the guests would be loving it!

Do you leave any instructions for guests to handle the fireplace and outdoor campfire ring as a safety measure?

Our listing does not have a hot tub!  Wish  we did!

All of our vacation rentals are located in high rise buildings in Waikiki.  There is one building with a hot tub that is maintained by the building staff so that makes it easier for us.

We have guests asking about amenities like pools, hot tubs and gyms.  I think that some guests prefer to book places with those amenities but I don't think it's a deal breaker if we don't have a hot tub.  In our case, proximity to the ocean is more of a factor.

Aloha @Lia42 , It seems like the location and the ocean access are what truly sets your listings apart. Do you find that most guests tend to prioritize the beach and outdoor activities over indoor amenities, or is there a balance between both?
