Hi Community,
I have been an Airbnb host for quite awhile now but have just received my second feedback about my dog's smell being an issue for their stay.
It's with the space that's part of my house but I keep the dogs on my side only and rarely have the door open between the space unless doing laundry.
My dogs are never in the space, I get change my clothing before ckeaning and do give them baths.
So should I take it to heart or let it go? Any great tips on dog smell I might not be thinking about.

If two separate guests have mentioned this I’d be looking into this a little bit deeper. Are there any blankets or bedding the dog sleeps on that could be washed more frequently?
Don’t have a dog but I often boil a saucepan of vinegar to clean the air of heavy cooking smells after guests have left.
Clean the vents, bleach and febreeze the blinds and window sills and maybe hang an airfreshner by vents.
You may use the same vaccum cleaner in both parts of your house? Thats a great way of spreading the smell easily. We used a vaccum once from a doggy house and it stank.
I have a separate vacuum cleaner for my airbnb space that had never been used with dogs.
Some people are unfortunately much more sensitive to the smell. Doesn't bother me and I don't have dogs. But I know people would go into houses that seem pristine and say they smelled of dog. Never too sure what that means.
All I can suggest is that you keep freshening and deodorizing the space. Air fresheners, diffusers etc. Lemons in a bowl of water can be good at canceling out smells apparently though I haven't tried. Baking soda or shake n vac on the carpet.
And really so long as the dog is mentioned on the listing it shouldn't be an issue.
Hello! I would suggest putting more air purifiers in the room. There are special air purifiers for pet owners. This will work perfectly in conjunction with regular general cleaning and washing the dogs. Such air purifiers have reinforced filters, as well as increased sensors of sensitivity to wool and dust in the air. Corgi lives in my apartment. True, she is only half a year. But for now, even my allergy-friendly friends can visit to our home.
When I bought an air purifier for myself, I read similar reviews and chose an acceptable ratio of price, quality and number of stars for the product. perhaps if you are interested in my advice, then this will help you:

The selection is wide, as you can see! I could not decide on a purchase for about a month 😄
This is one of my tips. But I agree with the comment above that if there is a mark that there is a dog in the house, then guests should not have disappointments on this subject
