Durian Smell

I have a few units in my house that was converted into a triplex by the owner before me. Since it used to be a regular bungalow, it has a central air system with the furnace located in one of the apartments (behind closed door).

Often, I get guest who cook with durian and as a result the whole house becomes pungent with the foul smell. I've always had wall flowers and candles around, and I turn off the heat/AC when I notice the smell coming up. Been dealing with it since, but I'm getting more and more tired of it.

Has anyone ever dealt with this? Could I specify in the rules that cooking with durian is not allowed? Is that going too far? Just looking to see what others do.

Thanks!

I've seen signs banning durian in many places in SE Asia...especially in hotels. It is delicious, though!

Absolutely you can ban durian. Put it in your house rules.
