I run a mid level Airbnb. I’m looking for decent quality, price friendly towels. What brands are you buying ?
Lately, I realized guests can review a listing without staying on the property. I think there has to be a safe guard from Airbnb so that only guests with experience with the host can be able to review.
@Munnu0 a guest can only review if they actually turn up , otherwise they cannot. If a guest turned up and then left for either ' lack of cleanliness ' or the place not being as advertised ' or being 'a bait and switch' then they can review but if they have not turned up but Airbnb was not notified or the booking was not cancelled then they can also leave a review. Do you know why they did not turn up ? or cancel ? . If they did not turn up but left a review you can have it removed I believe ... H
Hello, I really do have an experience with a potential guest reviewing the property without actually stepping a foot on the listing.
that’s why I brought it up to see if anyone within the community has the same experience.
thank you.
@Munnu0 As I have pointed out Munnu there are only a few ways this can happen . Its not usual. Maybe you can tell us what actually happened?.. H
Hey Helen744, we were in contact with the client and the client reserved to stay but let’s say he didn’t show up. Next thing was a review. Also, the guest gave me a reason of no show that say he or she came but there was no one to allow him or her in.
@Munnu0 was that true ?..Do you think he went to the wrong place?i really think if you were there and can explain that he did not turn up at all as far as you were concerned or notify you then he actually owes you money , at least one night but the review can also be removed. Try Airbnb again Good Luck... H
I’m trying to understand…do you mean if a guest comes to stay, but doesn’t interact with the host, he/she shouldn’t be allowed to leave a review?
No. You interact with a potential guest and it ends there. The guest doesn’t stay on your listening but somehow he’s able to review. I just think that’s not fair.
