Hey Elisa,
Well originally it was so daunting having an Airbnb house, but being a traveler myself I just thought about what travelers would enjoy the most and So far, the five stars were my ability to communicate in a timely manner, , If they had a question about the property I responded within maybe 10 minutes! Also, couple days before their stay at our house, I reach out to them and I ask that we can do to make their stay more enjoyable to let them know! I think people like those two things!
Hi @Angela3931 😊
It's great to hear about your positive experience with hosting on Airbnb!
I love that you reach out a couple of days before their stay to see how you can enhance their experience.
What other strategies have you found helpful in creating a welcoming atmosphere for your guests?
Warm regards🌻,

Hey @Elisa ,
what I also do is try to find out as much about the guest that are coming, whether they have dogs, if their kids are school age… if they have young children I make sure there’s a few small books there for them to read ! The family said they’re planning on hiking around the area, I provide a trail map in the local area.
A report by WheelHouse, a program I use has a lot of statistics regarding what people like, and if you accept pets ( I know cats must be included in that but so far I’ve had about six separate families all with dogs either one or two of them!) there is 70% increase in interested people looking at your property. A LOT of people travel with their dogs! I charge $100. pet fee, On my property I have a bucket and mop cases and incidences, and also outside I have poop bags ( its on Amazon, called “Poop Station”) Guests really love that, very convenient!
Hope these tips help!
Angela

Did you encounter any potential issues with pets during a stay?

@Angela3931 It sounds like you're already on the right track by focusing on communication! Timely responses and anticipating guests' needs are key to a great hosting experience. Here are a few additional suggestions that might help you continue to excel:
Personalized Welcome: Small touches can make a big difference. Whether it’s a handwritten note, a local snack, or even a guide with your favorite local recommendations, personalizing their stay adds a memorable touch.
Clear House Rules & Instructions: Make sure your house rules and check-in/check-out instructions are easy to find and understand. This helps guests feel confident and reduces unnecessary questions or confusion.
Proactive Communication: You're already reaching out before their stay, which is fantastic! You can take this a step further by checking in on them the day after their arrival to see if everything is to their satisfaction.
Maintain Cleanliness: Ensure that your space is spotless. Guests will always appreciate a fresh, clean environment.
Encourage Feedback: After their stay, ask your guests for honest feedback. It not only helps you improve, but also shows that you care about their experience.
Keep doing what you're doing—your efforts in communication and customer care will definitely pay off! Best of luck as you continue to build your hosting experience.
Hey @Oksana127

Well, we have to put our minds into what our weary travelers would want once they arrive at our house! If you know they have children then I would put some snacks for children, like fruit roll ups or some power bars one sleeve of microwavable popcorn, it could be a couple bottled waters. If it’s just adults I would do protein bars, maybe a toy for their dog if they’re bringing one, also some granola or fresh baked muffins from a local bakery. Some small chocolates. A handwritten note is what I always do, which is really nice, Basically saying, “ Welcome to our house Smith family! Please enjoy these goodies, any questions, message me in Airbnb App”
