Hot tub recommendations for Vermont!

Hi, I’ve been a host to a remote Airbnb I’ve been renting for about 3 years. I noticed that people look for hot tubs when booking in Vermont. I need something to attract more guests! Especially during winter. I would like to have some recommendations/ advice about in ground hot tub installation for my property. I own a very large house (6 bedroom, 3 bath) but have to keep prices low in order to get bookings! I need to make more money in order to meet the costs of maintaining the property and therefore need to upgrade somehow -

Thank you in advance for any suggestions, India

@India89  Hot tubs can help attract people to your rental.  However, maintaining a hot tub and guest satisfaction is expensive, and you have indicated that you are a remote host.

Will you have a 24/7 maintenance contract with the company or a handyman who will service the hot tub before, during and after guests?   Expect calls about cleanliness, lack of heat, too little water (not too many people understand that bodies displace water) chemical smells, broken covers, lack of lighting, privacy, non-working jets, etc.

Will you have a large enough hot tub for a 6 bedroom property?  Are there any laws regulating the use of a hot tub if it is in a rental property and of a certain size? How will it be secured for safety?

How much does your water cost?  How long will it take to do a water changeover and reheat?  How much is your electric cost?  Guests will leave the cover off during their visit, wash their animals in them, "adult party" in them, leave debris and clothing items in them ... I could go on.

Think carefully about this upgrade.  I have hot tubs, but I also have a dedicated handyman for servicing.  My (4 person) hot tubs cost me about $50 per guest booking in maintenance and utility costs, but they are an attractive amenity for my area, and I can charge a lot more per night than my competition because I have them.

Hi @India89, Welcome to the Airbnb Community Center!

How are you progressing with the potential candidates/brands for Hot tubs? Did you manage to find any recommendations through an internet search?

I am also reaching out to a few of our Hosts who have previously discussed Hot Tubs in the Community Center if they can help us by giving some general ideas or tips related to Hot Tubs: @Ruth413 @Elaine728 @Alexis646 @Lorna170 @Brandon-And-Francie0 @Charles-and-Tonja0 @Leigha33 @Yvonne41 @Britt924 @BenkaandKeith0 @Kristin108 @Marty-and-Amanda0. Evaluate the costs for electricity and maintenance vs. the lift in total nights booked and the increase in your nightly rate to keep up the hot tub.
