House cleaning

Hi I’m new to hosting and would like to know what cleaning methods work for your Airbnb.  Do you clean comforters and mattress pad behind each guest?

What’s the average cost for cleaning a 3 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom 1325 square foot home?

@Diana2511  I use duvet covers and clean the comforter every few bookings. It's checked after every booking and will be cleaned sooner if needed. I change the mattress pad every booking along with the pillow protectors. 

As far as cost for that space, I do not have an answer for you on that.

we're an international community so cleaning costs will vary considerably. 

the best way to get an idea of cleaning costs for your listing is to get three or four cleaning companies to come out and quote based on your requirements.

@Diana2511  All of the linens, towels, etc. are changed out and washed between guests.  That includes duvets and mattress pads.  I also have removable covers over the couch throw pillows.

As to the cost of cleaning your home -- it takes my housekeeper 4-5 hours to clean a 3/3 2000 sq ft home with hot tub -- I pay her $150 for cleaning and her partner $50 for outside maintenance and trash removal.   In my area the average rate for a housekeeper is $25-$35 per hour.  They do charge extra for AirBnBs because it is not a set schedule.

Hi~

   We are in a small town in AR and rent a full floor of our house. That area is about 1600sf of space, 3 bedrooms and 2 baths with laundry/kitchenette. We do our own cleaning so far and charge $50. We clean all linens used, floors, wipe down faucets/handles/appliances. Clean floors, sinks, showers/tub and toilets. All trash is removed, new bags in waste baskets. Remove used soaps, put out new (mini) soap bars. Open windows to air 🙂

    Everyone does a little differently but just this minimal care takes a couple hours (and however long laundry takes !).
