How can I create a hotel-like scent for my Airbnb properties?

I own a duplex where the upper unit is an Airbnb, and the lower unit is rented out to a long-term family with two large dogs. Unfortunately, the dogs' body odor occasionally seeps into the upper unit. I’ve been exploring various solutions—room sprays, odor eliminators, aroma diffusers, reed diffusers, and more—to eliminate the dog smell and create a hotel-like ambiance in my Airbnb. So far, my DIY reed diffuser (vanilla, coconut and rosemary essential oil mix)  has been my favorite option due to its cost-effectiveness and subtle fragrance. Does anyone have better suggestions?

My husband because a frequent need found a recipe on the internet for an oxygen type deodorizer.  His recipe does have chemicals but he buys on Amazon so nothing dangerous or hard to get.  He uses an electric mister to reduce common odor from my smoking and the one time someone smoked in a bedroom he put a bowl of his concoction in the bedroom twice and no issues from future guests.

Look online because a scent can just be a bad smell mixed with a good smell

This sounds amazing. Thanks for sharing Marie. Can I get more details on your husband's recipe? I'd love to give it a try also. Wholeheartedly agreed that my scent solution isn't foolproof also. The dog smell still lingers.

Still looking for whose recipe he copied don't want to take credit but I found this on the chic chemist and I know he buys on Amazon he said Citric acid with sodium and Cyclodextrin

Citric acid, another odor eliminator, is known as an odor neutralizer which means it eliminates smell by balancing the pH of the “stinky” molecule to that of the pH of water which is 7. This makes the “stinky” molecule odorless. Since it is more acidic it is able to balance out a usually basic “stinky” molecule. 

Cyclodextrin, one of the odor eliminators,  is a donut shaped molecule, so when a “stinky” molecule (like the ones from rotten eggs for example) which is usually spherical, runs into the donut shaped molecule, it gets trapped in the center. So at this point, you are only be able to smell the odor eliminator molecule if it has a fragrance or you will not smell the “stinky” molecule at all. These are known as odor trappers; very fitting LOL!
