How do you approach your Airbnb décor?

I've been exploring ways to improve the look and feel of my place through decoration, and I am curious to learn from other host here.

What are your best tips for Airbnb décor? And do you ever decorate for special occasions or festivals, like Easter or Christmas? I'd love to hear your ideas and what guests respond to the most.

@PaulaThank you for summarising the feedback for me, that’s very sweet of you.

I’ve learned a lot from other super-hosts. My main takeaway is that, as a host, the priority is always the property itself, keeping it tidy and spotlessly clean is what really wins guests over.

Small, heartfelt touches or surprises that reflect the local culture are a lovely bonus. Upgrading the interior over time is also important, but I see it more as a gradual investment.

And finally, if decorating isn’t my strength, then the best solution is to make a friend who’s a designer and let them help me achieve my vision 😄

Honestly, just looking through everyone’s properties already feels like travelling around the world.

Thank you all!!!

We don’t usually decorate seasonally. Instead, we focus on details and a strong sense of identity throughout the space.

What has made the biggest difference for us is creating a curated environment with thoughtful objects, textures, and materials. Guests consistently respond to that — we receive many compliments about how the space feels personal and cohesive.

As an interior decorator, my approach is to create a place where guests feel at home, but with a higher level of comfort and experience, closer to a boutique hotel standard.

For us, that balance between warmth and quality is what truly makes a difference.

Hello @Angel10141 ,

A warm and sunny welcome from Mumbai, India. Congratulations for being a super host.
We have decorated our place long before we started AirBnB. We love to collect souvenirs from our travels. Our theme was always old vintage type. Guests love it. We decorate our house during our festival of lights, Diwali. 🪔

And the same decoration continues for the next year, as I feel every day is special ❤️

Hi @Angel10141  😊,

I take great pride in personally managing every detail of my home to ensure it is always perfectly organized and beautiful for my guests. Beyond just decorating, I regularly tend to my plants to keep the space vibrant and fresh. Most importantly, I carefully assess the unique needs of every guest who stays with me, tailoring the experience to make sure they feel truly welcome and comfortable. For me, it’s not just a house; it’s a space I constantly refine with hard work and care.

I am hosting in Las Vegas, the sin city. Recently, the guests that I have been seen are more families or group of people coming to attend conferences, EDC kind of star music festivals, attending big sports events etc. I have seen this year lot of families with kids in my properties.

We continuously read the reviews about what they liked vs disliked.

Keeping the space, linens spotless clean with good odor is the top most priority.

Here are my priorities to keep the space guest ready:

Priority order:

  1. Comfort, cleanliness, and functional amenities matter most.
    1. Keeping high chairs, Kids toys, board games, books, cribs really worked well along with game items.
    2. Planning to add a Tesla Charger outlet and ice hockey game table for the guests.
  2. Minimalist, durable design with small thoughtful touches works well.
  3. Seasonal touches can be nice, but holiday-specific decor isn’t always necessary.
    1. Christmas trees, Halloween themed interior with simple lighting and pumpkins etc.
    2. The whole community adds the extra flavor when they get in to the property during the festive season as well with their exterior decor.

Hi...sorry for my late response...I've been  very busy...but I'd like to respond about...I usually think that decor is not about making the house like Christmass tree...but decor is mostly  way of living...of perception ...thinking and exposing to the world your inner...thinking...sensing...and loving...loving life...loving the beauty and loving your inner self...I am very pleased when people enjoy the way I've decorated the house...they feel right home and they appreciate that the home has its "soul"...tells something ...so decorating it's not just putting beautiful things in home...but speaking ...telling something behind the esthetical aspect...have a good day...🥰😍yes..it's interesting to change colours  according the seasons or feasts..but important is  feeling comfortable...cozy under your skin...in that way people can perceive that it's not about the money but also human feelings...

This is a great approach, @Valbona8, thank you for sharing. Décor can take center stage during festivities, but it’s really about creating personality and a unique experience for guests s🎖

Thank you for sharing @Valbona8, you mean the decoration of the place is kind of a present from the host who has their own character. I can't agree with you more. By doing this, your house stands out naturally

Hi @Paula   and @Angel10141, thanks for the invitation.

My approach to Airbnb décor is to create a space that feels stylish, comfortable, and very welcoming. I focus on clean modern design with warm touches, using neutral colors, soft textures, and furniture that helps guests feel at home right away.

I like mixing practicality with comfort—cozy seating areas, spacious bedrooms, quality bedding, and a kitchen that feels organized and ready to use. I also pay attention to details like rugs, wall art, curtains, and accent colors to make each room feel inviting rather than plain.

For me, décor is not just about looks—it’s about creating an experience. I want guests to walk in and immediately feel relaxed, comfortable, and happy they chose the space.
