Hi everyone,
I’m fairly new to this and starting to get the hang of the cleaning side of things, but I’m struggling with getting crease-free linen.
How do you get your sheets and doona covers looking smooth and tidy without wrinkles?
I take everything out of the washing machine straight away and hang it up neatly, then fold it once it’s dry but it still ends up quite creased. I store the linen in large bags so it’s ready to grab when I’m heading off to clean the house.
I don’t have the ability to iron or press linen, so I’m hoping there might be a trick to minimise wrinkly linen.
Would love to hear what works for you. Thank you so much in advance!

Thanks everyone, for taking the time to share such helpful advice. I really appreciate it.
I will certainly try some of the suggestions, but since I have cotton sheets, I feel, maybe I am having too high expectations. The wrinkles aren't too bad, I just felt they should be wrinkle free, like in hotels... But, since this is a side hussle, and I have limited time, and not the equpment they have at hotels (😆) I might have to settle for a few wrinkles in the sheets.
Thanks again for all the support and great suggestions
@Vårin-Eddy0 . My guests get super clean but often wrinkly sheets as they are 100% cotton. I try to smooth them out when folding and again when making the bed but its not perfect. There is a wrinkle free setting on my latest washing machine but I havent had time to trial. Its too hot and humid here during our busiest times to use a press or iron and a laundry service uses too many chemicals. So I focus on clean, stain and hair free linen.
So far no complaints from guests. The other option is to use sheets with a polyester mix or dont spin so high.
Thank you Frances3408 🙂
Hi @Frances3408 Wrinkly sheets are such a pain for me as well.
For my bedsheets, I got the Amazon wrinkle free ones and they’re actually great! No need to run the dryer on any special cycle aside from taking them out soon after they’re done drying.
For the duvet cover, I use my handheld steamer before each guest arrives to ensure It looks smooth and inviting. I have considered purchasing a heavier weight fabric duvet cover. Something with a quilted pattern in it would definitely be more forgiving to wrinkles. Haven’t gotten that far yet…
Best of luck!
My lint roller is a saving grace!
A quick roll over the bedding and upholstery ensures that no hair or dust are awaiting my next guest. Dollar store win!
@Bhumika . There is wrinkle free setting on one of my two dryers. Maybe I will try when I start to need using a dryer again.
I'll look forward to reading your experience with it @Frances3408 😉 Keep me posted!
Hi, it sounds like you’re not putting them in the dryer, are you? That usually takes the wrinkles out. Cotton is more prone to wrinkles than a cotton blend. Bamboo sheets are virtually wrinkle free.
Thank you for your reply.
No, I generally hang them out on the line to dry as I like the fresh smell it gets from drying outside. Saying that, I do sometimes put them in the dryer, if the weather does not permit drying outside and I don't think it makes much difference whether they have been dried in the dryer or outside.
They are not very wrinkly. Maybe I'm just being pedantic...
The one time I have used the dryer so far, I have not used any dryer balls or fabric sheets, but that might be worth trying.
Thank you!
If you decide to try dryer balls, let me know what you think or if you notice any difference in the linens 😉
