How do you handle the cleaning and management of bed linens and sheets?

Hello everyone 😊

Today, I would love to hear how you handle your bed linens and sheets!

This is an important part of creating a welcoming atmosphere for your guests.

  • Some Hosts choose to manage laundry themselves, making sure to wash linens right after each guest checks out and keeping extra sets handy for quick turnaround.
  • Others prefer to take a step back and use a professional laundry service to make things easier, especially if they have a lot of guests or properties.

What’s your approach? Do you prefer to handle it yourself, or do you like the convenience of outsourcing laundry? 🧺

I would love to hear why you prefer your chosen approach and look forward to reading about your experiences in the comments!

Warm regards 🌻,

Hi @Alister15 😊,

I completely understand the laundry struggle!

It's great that your cleaners have a convenient system in place.

I am curious about towels now 😁...

How do you handle towel laundry with such a busy schedule?

In my studio my cleaners handle all the laundry. We have 3 sets of sheets and towels so it makes turnover pretty easy.

In my 3 bed listing that is much higher end we use a professional dry cleaning service and again we have at least 3 sets of everything so it makes it much easier to handle.

I never want to be tied to laundry again.

Hi @Andrew645 😊,

You have a great approach!

Having multiple sets really helps with turnover.  Do you have any tips for finding reliable cleaning or dry cleaning services?

Depende la ocupación hago una combinación de ambas. Tengo stock suficiente para rotar entre estadía y estadía, cuando el recambio es muy frecuente, llevo todo a lavadero industrial que blanquea y plancha.

Sino, prefiero hacerlo yo personalmente.

Depending on the occupation I do a combination of both. I have enough stock to rotate from stay to stay, when the replacement is very frequent, I take everything to an industrial laundry that bleaches and irons.

Otherwise, I prefer to do it myself.

Hi @Agostina34 😊,

Thanks for sharing your experience!

Why do you prefer to do it by yourself?

Prefiero hacerlo yo por una cuestión de tiempos.

Me organizo en horas libres para planchar y guardar.

También, garantizo el buen aroma de las mismas

I prefer to do it myself for time reasons.

I organize myself in free hours to iron and put them away.

Also, I guarantee the good scent of them.

Hi Elisa.

thank you for being there for us. I actually find it very difficult to find good cleaning crew for my Airbnb. One reason is that one of the units I have is very small and it needs only two or three hours of cleaning.  The cleaning person cannot come and spend that amount of time because she would lose the whole day. And then it will not work her while, and it is going to cost a lot for me, Any recommendation would be appreciated. Thank you.

Hi @Azita5 😊

I understand the situation! I suppose you aren’t able to clean by yourself, right?

In this case, I think it’s best to ask for recommendations from other Hosts by starting a new conversation here. I am sure they will be happy to help you.

Hi, it’s done by my cohost as she hires a cleaning company charging 5JD/hour.

Hi @Adnan114 😊,

That's marvellous!

Did she hire them for you? Did you approve them beforehand? I would like to understand this process better, it is very interesting!

Hi!
I have a cleaner that does the laundry and ironing but sometimes when I have time I do it myself. At the moment I just have a 2 bedroom apartment so I think it’s easier to manage but with time, when I get extra  apartments might need to consider a professional laundry service.

Hi @Anne-Kativo0 😊

You have a good balance with your cleaner. 😍

How do you plan to handle laundry as you expand to more apartments? I see you’re not sure

about using a professional laundry service. Why is that?

Hi @Elisa !

Well I would say this would depend on the season, if we have a high turnover then of course using a professional laundry service would be ideal but if it’s low season I think I would alternate with the cleaner and also having several bedsheets in the apartment helps. You can change the clean ones and wash the dirty linens and iron them later.

I send all linens to a local laundromat where they are professionally washed. Once the cleaning lady finishes cleaning, she delivers the soiled linens to the laundromat. Either she or I pick up the cleaned linens afterward. The laundromat also offers a convenient pick-up and delivery service in case we don't have time to handle it ourselves.

Hi @Ana-Maria157 😊,

Thank you for sharing your approach here!

It's nice that the laundromat offers pick-up and delivery, making things easier.

How do you find the quality of their service?
