Dear fellow hosts!
I am interested to know how you usually provide information about places/attractions worth visiting close to your property. I know there's a guide book for this purposes here on Airbnb, but I'm more about mentioning those places directly in your listing description for guests to get more information about your area.
Not necessarily big tourist attractions, but any place you think worth mentioning. For example, your recommendation of a nice quiet restaurant within 5 minutes walking distance.
Do you also include basic info on your nearest transportation hubs like airports, railway/bus stations and how to get from/to there?
Do you think it's important and why?
Would love to learn from your experience.
Thank you!

Mentioning nearby attractions in your listing description is one of the most effective ways to connect with potential guests. It’s all about creating a vivid picture of the experience they’ll have if they stay at your place.
I always include a mix of well-known landmarks and hidden gems. For example, if there’s a famous park or museum nearby, I’ll highlight how close it is, like “just a 10-minute stroll to Central Park.” But I also recommend unique spots, like a cozy coffee shop or a quiet bookstore, to make my listing feel personal and relatable.
Transportation details are equally important. Guests appreciate knowing how easy it is to get around. I mention proximity to airports, bus stops, and train stations, and I’ll often include tips like, “a 5-minute walk to the subway station that takes you straight to downtown.”
Why is this important? Because guests aren’t just booking a place—they’re booking an experience. Showing them what’s nearby helps them visualize their stay and makes your property stand out.
Sharing these details upfront builds trust and makes it more likely they’ll click “Book.” Plus, it’s a great way to showcase the charm of your area!
Looking forward to hearing other hosts’ tips! 😊
Hello @Muslim4,
Thank you for bringing this great topic to our community 😁
While we wait for some of our hosts to join the conversation, I wanted to share a few threads that might provide interesting insights:
I’ll also be reaching out to @Kitty-and-Creek0, @Patricia2526, @Karen114 @Laëtitia-Stephy0 and @Guy991 to see if they’d like to share their experiences.
Best regards,
@Muslim4 I use Touchstay digital guest guides. The guest can download to their phone or print it out if they choose.
I think a guest guide is very important for all kinds of recommendations. Most of the guests really appreciate them
They are also useful to explain how things work in your home and any quirks..
Every question a guest asks me goes in the guest guide. It also helps on cutting down on fielding a lot of questions during their stay.
Good idea on Touchstay! 👍 I googled the service and it seems to be a modern, high-quality, helpful digital guide for guests. Despite the fact it is paid - I hope it is worth the money spent.
Great question! I do my best to let guests know what might be important to them. In my listing I mention all forms of transportation, especially as we are rural and remote. Nearest airport for sure - for commercial and for private aircraft. I recommend restaurants that I've eaten at and loved. Local attractions that are personal favorites. I also provide directions to reach us from all points of the compass, including when to ignore on board navigation.
Oh, and I'd love to visit Kazakhstan!
Sounds awesome! I took a look at your listing. No doubt, it is a unique place, cozy house and very beautiful nature! How far is it from San Francisco? Do your guests find your tips helpful?
That you for having a look at our listing. We are a couple hours north of SF on the Redwood Highway, Highway 101. Mendocino County is where the vineyards and the Big Trees meet!
We love to assist our guests with trip planning, and to share our favorite spots based on their goals and preferences. We take them on hikes on our property, share stargazing when weather permits.
Hosting for us is ideally about welcoming family we've only just met.
We do have a selection of maps, brochures, and restaurant recommendations in the guest suite, of course!
This is the Best Piece of Content i see
Hope all is well! I highlight nearby attractions in main description like Nearby attractions and things to do around the area. I also have my guidebook which I share right after booking.
Photos can help as well and describe each place and it’s proximity to our listing.
If the attraction are accessible by public transport or within walking/biking, use the “Getting around” section.
I sometimes send a personal message with tailored recommendations based on their interests.
Best regards and Happy hosting!
That's cool! Looks like you've done a big job! Sharing a guidebook in a Welcome note is a great idea. I think I should add more information to mine and start sharing it as well.
What's the most frequent question guests ask you regarding the local places?
Hi fellow host!
Great question! I find it helpful to add local tips directly in my listing—guests love knowing about nearby hidden gems like cozy cafes or scenic spots within walking distance. I also mention nearby transportation options, which adds convenience for first-time visitors.

Hi!
Here’s the best way to integrate local events and attractions into your Airbnb descriptions:
1️⃣Main Description: Highlight nearby attractions under a section like "Nearby Attractions and Things to Do." Mention key places, events, and their proximity to your listing.
2️⃣Photos: Add images of nearby attractions with captions showing their distance from your property.
