Hello Airbnb Hosts,
we are successfully renting our lake cottages and would love to host in the winter season.
There were long-term rentals (during Covid) and some few bookings in the off-season. But it is not sustainably.
We reduced the minimum stay to 2 nights as well as the pricing. Last year we made it more cozy and added creativity boxes to Hygge (slow down and be comfi ) but how do we change our listing to a different lifestyle in that season?
Thinking about special experiences was another idea, yet it needs us to be there and do it and we are not around the corner.
Do you have any other ideas to promote off -seasons and make it more attractive (if there is not snow in that area, there is not much going on, besides the standard museums and live music in restaurants.
Thanks for bringing up some ideas - no matter how unusual.
Ulrike
Hey,
A beautiful bathtub with a view would be great I’m sure! Sounds very romantic but also relaxing while reading a book too.
Having games like a pool table might be helpful
Thank you so much, @Karen4131 and @Marcia861, for coming and helping, @Jim-And-Ulrike0 😊
Hi Marcia,
thanks for your idea. There is not enough space for a pool table. We have board and other games, creativity boxes.
I will check in some more table games.
Best, Ulrike
What wonderful lakefront properties you’re listing.
I also rent out a lakefront property in Sweden, far from ski resorts and not always snowy in winter, but guests are drawn to the hot tub. It works smoothly for guests to use, and it seems to be the main attraction.
However, I’ve noticed that when discussing hot tubs and Airbnb in the U.S., there are frequent warnings about liability disclaimers for potential accidents. You’ll find many threads on this topic here, but it will likely be a year-round draw.
Best regards,
Karen
Hello Karen,
thanks for taking your time to answer.
yes we thought about a hot tub, which is much common over here. We are not sure how to keep the tub hot and maintain it because we are an hour away.
Your experience looks awesome, really relaxing!
How do you maintain it.
Liability is a hot topic but there are always possibilities - we need waivers for this.
Best, Ulrike
