I would like to share tips that work for me so far:

1. Cleanliness
2. Have a bottle of water and a snack for each person for their arrival
3. Communicate in the guests language
4. Ask them if they are celebrating a special occasion
5. Leave a welcome message on a board
6. Be available for guests communication

I would never provide bottled water as it's so bad for the environment @Charmaine165 

as I live in a country with decent drinking water I use a filter jug and decant into water bottle with stopper for guests .
