Security cameras

I was reading a few conversations and come across that if there is a dispute between the guest and the host, do we need to provide security footage? I didn’t install any security cameras. Please advise. Thank you.

Hi @Su100,

While providing video evidence isn’t always required, it can be extremely helpful—especially when resolving disputes with Airbnb customer support. I recommend installing a couple of external cameras, as these can clearly show what happened in situations where it’s otherwise your word against the guest's.

That said, the importance of video evidence can vary depending on the nature of the issue you're experiencing.

It's also crucial to strictly follow Airbnb’s policies regarding surveillance devices. I've seen listings temporarily shut down due to complaints when the rules weren’t followed. Only external cameras are permitted—interior cameras are strictly prohibited, regardless of disclosure.
