Hello everyone 😊
As I was admiring the beautiful listings you all host, it made me think about how important it is to bring a bit of the host’s personality into the decor. It adds that unique touch and could even offer a competitive edge.
With that in mind, I’d love to hear about the type of decor you use. Where do you find your inspiration? Do you lean more toward minimalist or maximalist styles? 👩🎨
It would be amazing if you could share a picture of a room that showcases the decor you’ve chosen for your listing in the comments of this thread.
Best regards,
Hello @Paula ! ✋😊
I agree that some of the listings are truly outstanding! Hosts put so much efforts to create and improve the interior, amenities and decorations.
Comparing to them my flat looks pretty humble, so I only can admit that I would prefer minimalist functionality rather than having numerous decorations in the property.
Earlier I had an empty wall in the bedroom, so I put a couple of photos on them: first - of the famous Albert Einstein and second - of not-less-famous Elon Musk. 😊 They looked so great together! However, later I decided to put something more neutral on that wall, so now there's just a simple painting with flowers and vegetables there. Looks minimalist - better than just an empty wall.
Hello @Muslim4,
Thank you so much for participating in this thread.
It’s great to hear about the changes you’ve made to your property. Do you take guest feedback into consideration when making changes to the decor? 😊
Regards,

Hello Paula!
I believe that with a minimalist style
It becomes more difficult to make mistakes in decoration and comfort.
Many over-decorated apartments can appear "cozy"
but then there is a risk of them becoming a little tiring.
Searching for a "theme" always helps with inspiration,
for example - nautical, beach, country house or mountain,
finally, a simple choice helps you in the search for objects, colors,
or setting.
I'm glad you chose me,
I hope I was a contribution!!!
A hug!

Os hóspedes costumam dar feedback sobre a sua decoração? Com que frequência você faz atualizações?

We don’t decorate much. Beyond the necessities and the numerous windows, we focus on function and convenience for our typical multifamily guest stays. Our lakehouse sleeps 18 and our guests come to enjoy the many activities both within and nearby our property.
Hi @Jason2680 , I noticed this thread being revived due to a host's comment and couldn't help but notice how neat your listing looks! The sofa placement is fantastic with the green views 😍
Are there any particular amenities or activity recommendations you provide to help guests get the most out of their stay?
At 9:00am of the morning following check-in, we send a message with a list of things to do either at our place, or within a short drive. The following is a copy/paste of one of those messages:
If you're looking for things to do:
~ Try out a game of corn hole. You'll find it in the garage.
~ Do you enjoy hiking? Try the Lost Spring Trail. You'll find the trail head just inside the campground entrance in front of the house.
~ Go kayaking from the boat dock at Floating Mill Park. The kayaks in the garage are for your enjoyment.
~ Don't let it fool you. The video game console in the game room is programmed with over 3200 classic arcade games. Excellent rainy day fun.
~ A short drive will take you to an awesome location for scenic lake viewing. Drive back out to Hwy 56 (Smithville Hwy). Take a right. You'll find it on your left in a 1/2 mile.
~ From the house notebook found on the dining table, take our season pass for the Day Use area of Floating Mill. Enjoy the lake beach for a couple hours. Please remember to return the pass to the notebook.
~ There's a few board games upstairs in the cabinet of the common area.
~ Edgar Evins State Park is only about 20 minutes away. The interstate route is quicker, but the Center Hill Dam Road is a bit more scenic. Here's the events calendar for the state park: https://tnstateparks.com/parks/events/edgar-evins
Nearby restaurants:
~ Rose Garden Restaurant - Located at I-40 on Hwy 56 next to the Shell Station. 14622 Old Baxter Rd, Silver Point, TN. Family menu. Small town atmosphere. Never a bad choice. (open year round)
~ Blue Water Grille - Located just a few minutes away at Hurricane Marina. 1287 Floating Mill Rd, Silver Point, TN. Barely a 5 minute drive or short boat ride away. (seasonal operation)
~ El Lago Mexican Restaurant - About 25-30 minutes by boat or car at Center Hill Marina. 450 Cove Hollow Cir, Lancaster, TN. You'll love the great variety on their menu and their frozen margaritas are perfect on hot summer afternoons. (open year round)
~ Twisted Oaks Restaurant (our favorite) - Located in nearby Dowelltown. 3349 Nashville Hwy, Dowelltown, TN 37059. Do not miss this gem for a fun evening out...especially Thursday through Saturday night. Try the nachos! (open year round)
This is an excellent strategy @Jason2680 😍 I am sure your guests appreciate these fine details and entertainment activities!
I noticed your gorgeous listing photos and found an exciting hot tub and game room too 😉 Do you leave any ground rules for guests to use these amenities? Or do you prefer more of a "free to use as you like" kind of policy?
If the place I'm going to is a historical or authentic place, I would like to stay in a place with elements suitable for that region. But where I go for work with constant circulation, on the contrary, I prefer minimalists and simple places that will make my job easier.
Hello Paula,
My preference is for minimalist and neutral decor. Overcrowding may take away the focus and also could contribute to h&s issues.
That's a valid point @Jai1580 , minimalist and neutral decor does create a calm, uncluttered environment.
Minimalist: Gives the guest a feeling of clean, more room, and organization.
A theme provides character & style. Also I only have leather or vinyl sofas and chairs so that it’s easy to clean rather than having fabric upholstery that can stain or trap odors.
Colors on beddings, pictures & curtains also give rooms there own personality and tells the guest that you put effort into the decor giving them a sense of appreciation and thankfulness.
many guest enjoy a different decor and hospitality that can come with the decor.
for example I have a dancing pole in the living area many guest find it exciting. A mini bar to give the living area a feeling of Las Vegas and relaxation and a area where they may take photos with friends or family for memories.
Hi @Ivy303 , sorry for being late, but I just wanted to appreciate this classy decor! I personally love vibrant spaces and your listing pictures look great 😍
