long term rental standards

I wonder, what are standards on long term ( few months)  rentals?

Am I supposed to provide cleaning ( once in how many weeks?)

Am I supposed to restock supplies , like toilet paper, hand soap etc.?

any advice is greatly appreciated.

Most hosts provide a starter pack . @Yosef26

i cost in fortnightly cleaning for longer stays and make that part of my T&Cs for accepting longer stays.

some hosts won't provide cleaning.

Thank you Helen!

@Yosef26   For long term rentals I would advise that housekeeping come in every two weeks for the bathrooms and kitchen.  You can also offer linen and towel changes.  This is an extra charge to the renter at one half of the turnover cleaning rate for each scheduled visit as the housekeeper is there only for limited cleaning, not whole house.

I make sure that my guests know that they are responsible for purchasing their ongoing supplies.  However, if they have agreed to bathroom cleanings, my housekeeper will leave starter quantity supplies when cleaning, but only in the standard amounts.

Thank you Lorna! Your comment is very helpful.

I currently have a tenant that is here for three months just before she came.  I reached out to her and asked her if there was anything specific I could do to make her trip a great one, but I told her that I was supplying her a weeks worth of toiletries, she said thank you for that. but I made sure that she had a mop and a vacuum so that she can Clean. I also have in the apartment a washer and dryer and so far all of it has been working out.  I really don’t think that people that stay for a long time expect me too have the cleaners come and clean it and supply all of them with things I think they realize that it is their responsibility

@Diana2915  It is standard for most long-term stays for guests to renew their own supplies such as toiler paper, paper towels, coffee, etc. when the starter supplies from the host run out.

However, most hosts mandate periodic cleanings either at additional charge or not charge, simply to keep an eye on the property and to see if the guest is keeping things in order or trashing the property. If you don't get to see the property periodically, you can end up with a big surprise when the guest vacates. You may want to rethink the cleaning part.

this is true, except it is in our basement and we have been down there a couple of times for  different things and I can hear the vacuum going from upstairs.  I would imagine that if I wasn’t on the property, I would probably implement different Cleaning policies for long-term stays.
