"Cleaning before checkout" under amenities

Ander amenities if you scroll all the way down to services, it has "cleaning before check out". What does that mean? The guest has to clean? I start cleaning before they check out (a host pulled that one on me once)? That I clean during there stay?

@Lizzie It would also be good to include some cleaning service or options for guest who have allergies. Some just want non fragrant laundry detergent while others have more extreme allergies.  Sometimes they wait until the last moment or after check in as may have forgotten, but would be good to know on check in. thanks!

@Lizzie Could you please try to get Airbnb to change the wording on the "edit listing" so we know what it means? Thanks!

@Inna22

The answer is yes.  It means that you offer some cleaning service during the stay.

For example: You have someone to clean the apartment/house on a daily basis, or each 2 days and so on.

@Lizzie thank you for getting involved. What is just important as getting the answer is getting the language so it is clear to hosts and guests. No matter what you say I will probably not check this box even if this is something I offer for the fear of confusing guests and creating expectations I can not meet. If I saw that everyone here knew what it meant but me, I would have used that explanation blaming my more limited English. If this means cleaning during stay, it should say cleaning during stay not before check out. It should also clarify free or paid. I do offer it as a paid service but would be worried someone will expect it for free if it is not spelled out as hotels do not charge for it.

Thanks, Lizzie. If it means that the host provides cleaning during the stay, as Inna pointed out, it needs to say exactly that- "Cleaning provided during the stay (free or for a fee) not "Cleaning before check-out".

There is no reason for such ambiguous wording. And while you're at it, can you please ask them to change prep time wording to "Block one day (or two, whatever) between bookings", instead of the misleading wording of "Block on day before and after bookings".

Airbnb seriously needs to reword this - I've been hosting for years and never knew whether to check it or  not. I'm guessing guests wouldn't know what it means anyway!

Pretty sure it means you offer made  service during their stay, like a hotel.

Nah, I guess cleaning for a fee. This is airbnb after all
