short term house rentals

Hell everyone,I’m new to Airb&b and have so far been renting out a single room. I live near Glastonbury in Somerset uk and am thinking of renting out the whole of my house, it has 2 double beds, one queen, one single bed  and one pull out queen bed.
would I be able to rent it without fire hoses or anything else like that? I have fire alarms and carbon monoxide alarms.

Are there any laws I need to know about?

many thanks you lovely lot!

@Anisa60 A few thoughts:

You need a gas safety certificate

You will pay capital gains tax when you sell the house (proportioned to the years rented vs owned)

You should swap from council tax to Business rates

You will need specialised insurance for short term rentals

Your mortgage company needs to be informed

Read up on Furnished Holiday Lets on gov.uk as there are some pension and tax advantages if you rent for more than 105 days/year

@Mike-And-Jane0 Thanks so much for all this information. I’m only renting it out for two weeks maximum. My house has no mortgage and is on oil, so I guess I wouldn’t need a certificate?? Thanks for your help!
