Host Stories Contest 2016: Winners Announced

Hello Everyone,

We know many of you have been excited to hear who are the winners of the 2016 Host Story Contest and we are pleased to say the wait is now over.

We asked hosts from all over the world to share their unbelievable host experiences and the reaction was overwhelming. We received many unique and inspirational stories and they were all a joy to read. Thank you to everyone who contributed.

It was a particularly hard decision, so we hope you will enjoy reading the winners:

Mavis N Ken
@Mavis-N-Ken0 welcomed their guests who had travelled over 7,000 miles from the other side of the world to make a new life in a different country. By going the extra mile to help them get settled, they now consider their guests ‘part of the family’. Read more

Imad @Imad1 formed a friendship for life whilst helping his guest find a long-lost friend in Morocco. Read more

@Aldona0's aptly named story ‘Fear of Life’, recounts how she managed to overcome a fear of flying when her guest, a professional pilot, took her to the skies! Read more

To view the stories in full in the Host Stories board, click ‘read more’ on the links above.

There are so many amazing community stories, we hope you will enjoy reading these and continue to share yours in the Community Center. Have you had any similar experiences like these? Why not share your thoughts and congratulations with the Marvis N Ken, Imad and Aldona here in this thread.

Congratulations again to all the winners. And thank you all for helping to create a world where travelers can belong anywhere.
