One year ago, Airbnb.org publicly launched as an independent nonprofit, building on the work of the Open Homes and Frontline stays programs. Today, we’d like to thank you for your ongoing partnership—and give a special shout out to the 6,000 Hosts who joined Airbnb.org this year to offer emergency housing to refugees, evacuees, and others worldwide.

Back in 2017, we set an audacious goal to house 100,000 people in times of crisis, and with your support, we met and exceeded it in 2021! Currently, we’re focused on providing temporary stays for 20,000 Afghan refugees, a humanitarian effort made possible, in part, by your donations as well as the spaces you’ve offered for free or at a discount.

You can learn what it’s like to be an Airbnb.org guest and Host through first-hand stories in the Resource Center.

I and many others are afraid to participate in this program due to lack of support air has given us in disputes arising with guests, especially those  involving  damage claims.
