On May 1, Airbnb CEO Brian Chesky announced upgrades that will help you simplify communication with your guests, get a better look at your earnings, reorder your photo tour and provide more information on who you’re hosting. Brian also announced better ways to travel together and the extraordinary new experience of Icons. 

 

We invite you to share your questions about these new features in this thread until Friday, May 10th. Our team will compile the top questions, and I will come back to you with answers by the end of the month.

Thank you for sharing this opportunity to provide feedback. I too as some other hosts have mentioned am very curious about the parameters of the top 1,5,10% trophy. The rankings do seem all over the place when you look at listings in a specific area. My listing has one of the highest ratings for my area, 260 plus 5 star reviews, and fell into top 5% whereas other listings with lower star ratings and less intention fell into top 1%. Clarification on what helps move a listing up or what has bumped a listing down would be so very helpful if we as hosts want to improve. 

If guests see a less desirable listing with a higher percentage are they going to wonder why a listing that looks amazing and has wonderful reviews is at a lower percentage? Building trust in that trophy is important for both guests and hosts.

Eu gostei das novidades , principalmente da facilidade em alternar as abas -> "Vou viajar/ Vou hospedar ".

O painel de ganhos  está excelente ! 

Eu gostaria de perguntar se poderia ser considerado " opcional " para os anfitriões , o chat permanecer somente com o hóspede principal ou com todos os convidados na reserva ? 

Pode ser estressante para o anfitrião , a comunicação com todos os convidados da reserva, pois podem entrar perguntas repetidas e solicitações diversas . 

Se ocorrer um excesso de mensagens sem o pronto atendimento , você não acha que o anfitrião poderá ser mal avaliado em comunicação ? 

Agradeço a oportunidade de realizar uma pergunta !

The earnings panel is excellent!
I would like to ask if it could be considered "optional" for hosts to only have the chat with the main guest or with all the guests in the booking?
It can be stressful for the host to communicate with all the guests in the booking, as there can be repeated questions and various requests.
If there is an excess of messages without prompt responses, don't you think the host could be poorly rated in communication?

Well Hello @Quincy  and thank you again @Christy-Schrader for the opportunity to share. 

 

The remainder of the improvements are good and certainly forward thinking.

 

Absolutely, the new trajectory is exciting and will draw new excitement to the platform, for which I am so thankful. So creative and an amazing way to capture the trends of the world around us. Well done.  I also am in love with the new commercials. They are so amazing and hit true to the value to the traveler to choose Airbnb. I think while not showcased in the launch, they are still a part of the launch and are so fun to watch. Shout out to the creators! For those who have not seen them because of streaming platforms and country regulations, perhaps you could show one in your upcoming presentation.

 

In keeping with the theme of the upgrades.. What is next?

 

Perhaps we can take time to solve the behind the scenes of the platform that can cause frustration for the traveler and the host.  A release to clean up the nuts and bolts so to speak... maybe even call it the "Behind the Scenes Release" and speak to the audience of hosts and guests who may have experienced frustrations on the platform, to get them to try Airbnb again.

This update is visually very colorful and fun!
I didn't realize how much easier it would be to communicate with guests with the emoji feature.

Now, a must-have feature about us Japanese, the translation function. Our language is niche, but we need a little more accuracy.
I also feel that the translation on/off function is a bit of a bad idea as it now takes one step.
With niche language to niche language, I have to use an external translation app as well to check and reply many times. It's inconvenient and adds to the hassle.

It would be great if this feature could be corrected😊

1__Pour ma part je suis très habituée à la nouvelle approche de l’application  Airbnb.

Que cela soit celle de l’ordinateur, ou celle du téléphone.


Elles se ressemblent beaucoup plus qu’avant.

Cela en facilite l’usage.

 

 

2__ Pour les nouveaux Hôte

j’ai l’impression que ce n’est pas du tout simple pour eux, vu le nombre de questions qu’ils posent.

-  Je mets en avant l’usage des « Ressources » à partir de l’ordinateur et non du téléphone 

-  Je suis  obligée d’expliquer comment on peut apporter des » Modifications et Adjonctions » à partir de l’annonce et du calendrier.

Thank you @Paula for the invitation to this thread.   I have 2 questions, please. 

 

1.  I have 2 properties in Mexico, one is now a Top 10% which I am very excited about.  But I only see the designation if I am on the airbnb.mx site.   I do not see the designation if I am on the airbnb.com site.   It does show in the app in Host status. 

 

So my question is, is this only applicable in the home country of the property?  Is it not visible to international guests searching?  This area is very popular within Mexico, but we also get a lot of US and Canadian tourists as well.

 

2.  On March 27,  I entered a request on the Elevate page to correct categories for my properties to add Beachfront, which is a big search filter.   The category was added  within 2 days  but then was removed sometime later.  However, they left the request in Pending status so I cannot do anything further on the page.  Customer Support tells me there is no way to contact that team.  Is there any way to get that request completed please?
