Community Center Guidelines

(Last updated 3 May, 2023)

It is important to know that the Community Center is part of the Airbnb platform and Airbnb’s Terms of Service , Privacy Policy and Community Policies, including the Non Discrimination Policy apply to your use of the Community Center. Additionally, our Community Center Guidelines outline expectations for everyone’s  (host, guests and Airbnb team) conduct when participating in the Community Center (Collectively “The Guidelines”).

Our ‘Community Guidelines’ are

1. Be respectful and encouraging of each other, even if your opinions differ.

2. You must read and adhere to Airbnb’s Nondiscrimination Policy. This policy is foundational to Airbnb and it helps us ensure our community  remains respectful and inclusive – if you have further questions, please read this article in our Help Center.

3. Follow Airbnb’s Content Policy. Under our Content Policy, we do not allow the following;

  • Advertising or other commercial content, company logos, links, or company names
  • Spam, unwanted contact, or content that is shared repeatedly
  • Content that endorses or promotes illegal or harmful activity, or that is profane, vulgar, obscene, threatening, violent or harassing
  • Content that is discriminatory.
  • Attempts to impersonate another person, account, or entity, including a representative of Airbnb
  • Content that is illegal or that violates another person’s or entity’s rights, including intellectual property rights and privacy rights
  • Content that refers to the details of an Airbnb investigation
  • Content that is sufficient to identify a listing’s location or other content that may pose a personal safety risk to an Airbnb community member
  • Content that relates to an individual's personal information e.g. personal information such as email addresses, phone numbers, credit card details etc.
  • Content that is off-topic, doesn’t ask a question, or doesn’t offer knowledge in response to a question as part of a larger discussion
  • Trolling or repeatedly targeting community members

4. Write simply and clearly, and post full answers so other members can engage easily with you (click here for tips on getting started)

5. Your content may be removed from the Community Center if it is deemed to be in violation of these Guidelines. It could also result in temporary or permanent suspension from both the  Community Center and the Airbnb platform.

Airbnb Online Community Managers help ensure the Community Center is a welcoming place for all members. If you see something that goes against these guidelines, please report it using the Report Inappropriate Content under the three-dot icon placed at the top of every post or comment.
