Hello hello,
I can't believe how quickly this week has gone by, I feel like it was only a moment ago when I was talking about last week's social. 🙂 I hope your week has been ok and you are all staying nice and healthy.
Thank you once again to the team of people who came to our last catch-up last Thursday. We all had a great time talking about the things we would take to a deserted island and many resourceful ideas came to light. Some of things included; a mirror which not only can you check how your hair is doing, but you can also use it to attract attention from local boats and also a tool for cutting trees/food and also a chicken came up quite a lot as a useful companion for eggs. But, of course an endless supply of Pringles and my personal addition of HP (brown) sauce (didn't think that through so much), would be amazing additions–to mention just a few things. 🙂 Feel free to share more details on this post here.
Back on to this week, we will be back on an APAC friendly time (I hope this time works for many of you):
Friday 15th, 12:00PM UK*
*Timezones:
Sydney - Friday 15th, 9PM
Darwin - Friday 15th, 8:30PM
Seoul - Friday 15th, 8PM
Spain - Friday 15th, 1PM
New York - Friday 15th, 7AM
If you would like to join, please register before the start time using this specific link (this link changes each week so if you have registered before, you will need to do it again - sorry): https://airbnb.zoom.us/meeting/register/tJcscu6prDMqG9IzhX3QjQLWF4RhlR-47sDn
Not sure how to use Zoom? Check out this CC guide.
For anyone new to the socials, it's a weekly online meetup where CC members come together to connect with each other and have a bit of positivity along the way. It's not specifically Airbnb focused and anyone new is very very welcome.
Theme of discussion: we didn't have one this week, so I hope you don't mind the one I selected (any other suggestions most welcome)...
If you are like me, plants are really nice things to surround your home/office and I think they help to bring an essence of calm (maybe not the spiky ones! 🙂 ). I know many of you enjoy house plants or the plants in your garden and so I thought it might be fun to share our favourites and any tips we might have for keeping plants happy (or any plant woes).
Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and if you can't attend or want to get the ball rolling, feel free to share your plants below.
Thank you and I can't wait to speak with you.
Lizzie

Hi @Lizzie ,
I'll be there this Friday but has to leave early as I have another meeting right after this .
See you soon,
Marissa
It will be lovely to see you @Marissa107. Just to mention the link in the topic above is a different one to last week, so best to get it strange from this topic. 🙂
Also, I wonder if you have seen this recipe topic in the CC? I wondered if you might be able to share your banana peel burger recipe there? I think many people would be very intrigued to hear about it. Let me know if you want a hand with adding a photo or anything.
I hope you are having a good week.

@Lizzie So excited! I'll be up and dialing in from Maine, where I've actually planted things! Relieved I won't be in New York to show the little cactus on my windowsill... Can't wait to see you all!
Aww wonderful to hear this @Ann72. Breathe in the nice Maine air. 🙂 Speak to you soon.

Well @Lizzie , @Ann72 , @Lawrene0 , @Clara116 , @Melanie-and-John0 , @Gordon0 , @Christine615 , @Jessica-and-Henry0 , @Kimberley29 @Gordon0 , @Quincy , @Stephanie , @roberta2 et all who were in the meetup April 25th.
We mainly specialise in “green” here. Choose a shade, and we do it! Lol.
As we had dawn rising, I showed the video image of a cherry picker in the back yard, awaiting a family working bee the next day. We were going to halve the climbing creepers up our Carpentaria palm trees. Although spectacular to have that section of the yard so secluded for a young daughters wedding last year, we weren’t happy to continue to allow the weight on the spindly palms. They survived the windy Wet Season, but wouldn’t like them there for the next Cyclone season. Too much demand on water as well as too heavy.
Here some images of Garry (my better half) and our eldest daughter doing the ground cleanup, whilst her brilliant husband, who has qualifications for working at heights, had fun with the hired toy, cutting down the creeper from up high.
See the baby version of the same vines in hanging pots, and how big nature can do it!
Thanks for sharing your plants & gardens!!! It was lovely to see and talk to you all~

Whenever Henry and I miss leafy green nature, we usually go up to the roof garden or out to public parks to enjoy the plants and trees from other people's labor :-)) Here are a few photos from our recent walks.
These 2 photos were taken in April of the inside of our apartment complex.
The next 2 are photos Henry took when he was out jogging late at night at a nearby park that has a running track.
He was focused more on getting a photo of the full moon.
And these 3 photos I took last weekend at a lake park in Changwon. I spend most weekdays here for work and normally I'd go home to Seoul almost every weekend but because of covid I've reduced the frequency I go home and have been only going only once every 2~3 weeks but when I do go, stay in Seoul longer periods. It's given me a chance to explore Changwon (while strictly practicing social distancing, of course) on weekends I'm here.
Great pics, @Jessica-and-Henry0. Your estate makes my 8x12 strip look positively measly!
@Gordon0 , your garden is beautiful and may I state your yellow bench is fantastic! 🌻
Thanks, @Cathie19 et al. As I mentioned, it was previously (Met line) purple, on the left, and (District line) green before that. I needed a little more brightness in what are often grayscale days, hence the re-paint.
