Community Center navigation upgrade

Hi hosts, 

 

We are excited to share that we have updated the Community Center to enhance the site's navigation. 

 

What’s changing?

We have introduced a new navigation bar on the left side of the Community Center – this new system makes it easier to navigate between topics.

 

What does the new navigation feature?

  • All your favourite topics are now nested under the navigation menu.
  • The menu persists across the site, making it easy to navigate back and forth between topics and threads. 
  • The menu options open and collapse depending on your preference.

What sections are included in the navigation?

We have expanded the structure by adding new sections with their corresponding boards for seamless navigation. The new sections include the following:

 

Most Popular: displays top discussions across all community topics right on the homepage carousel. 

 

Homes: discussion boards related to hosting accommodations.

  • Ask about your listing
  • Advice on your space
  • Support with your bookings 
  • Help with your business 
  • Community Guides
  • Host Circle 
  • Community Cafe 

Airbnb: updates and resources from Airbnb

  • Airbnb updates
  • Community Guidelines 
  • Resource Center
  • Help Center 
  • Local Host Clubs

A few extra features we added

When you’re on a specific topic or area, the relevant menu now gets highlighted as seen in the GIF below:

We’ve also added a breadcrumb trail, visible at the top of each page. Breadcrumbs help you trace your path across the site and easily keep track of where you are on the website.

Hi @Joelle43 , that definitely seems weird! I cross checked and to me it looks like this and allows me to navigate through different pages. Do you mean that you can't see more than 2 pages here? If you could share a screenshot, I'll be able to pass it forward to our team.

Ok all is well in Airbnb land again🤗 I tried wracking my brain to find a solution - yes that does need some serious thinking I grant you but had a light bulb moment😂  I tried reducing the size of my page and hey ho - I can see the pages like you and I've got my emojis back💃 Thank you both so much for your help and sorry for being such a nuisance.

 

I will sleep better tonight😴

 

PS. I'm discovering a whole bunch of things I hadn't seen before😂 Is it possible @Mike-And-Jane0 that if you reduce the size of your page you'll see the CC more clearly?  Worth a shot!

😂 @Joelle43 , thanks for keeping us on our toes ! It definitely helps the little grey cells (as Hercule Poirot would say "if the little grey cells are not exercised, they grow the rust.") 😉  

 

Nah! I don't think so. You're great with so many technical things including the nitty gritties of how to set up things on Airbnb website/app. Trust me, you're doing just fine 🌻

I am able to see alll the Guides under Host Guides....all the way back to 2020?

 

The only other thing I can suggest is to logoff entirely on all devices (phone, tablet, Mac) and then log back in to the community center on your computer?

I know right @Joan2709 ! Many hosts had shared feedback earlier to make the Help and Resource Centre more visible like the current design (I remember @Debra300 mentioned something similar a while back, if I am not mistaken). I am glad to hear you like it too ! 

 

Having all the Airbnb Resources outlined in the side bar is definitely going to help many new hosts visiting us.

 

Regarding your feedback about Guides section, I'll share with the team.

Thanks for the update! The new side navigation feels cleaner and more intuitive. I especially like the persistent menu and breadcrumbs, makes jumping between topics much easier. Great improvement overall!

Hi @Bhumika In answer to your DM, no problems here, I can navigate easily. I'm using Mac OS and Chrome if that helps to know.
