GAME: Where in the world?

Hi everyone, 

We haven’t had a game for a while, and I thought this one would be apt: in these times, we’re not travelling so much or so far, but what better opportunity to reminisce on our past adventures and have a bit of fun travelling virtually?

The name of the game here is to guess ‘where in the world’ the photo shows. It’s a cropped photo of a famous location… can you guess?

Whoever guesses correctly can then challenge us with a picture of their own to guess. 

I’ll kick things off - I hope you enjoy 🙂

@Robin4  He's known for his work on the Sagrada Family temple. My guess is that would be it.

it is entrance doors to Antoni Gaudi's....... Sagrada Familia in Barcelona.

(The Temple of the Poor)

It was ironic that devoting the bulk of his life to creating a cathedral for the poor, on 7th June 1926 he was out walking and was struck by a tram. Bystanders thought he was simply a beggar and just left him in the street to deteriorate. He was eventually taken to hospital but by that stage his condition was beyond help and the priest who was called to administer the last rites on June 10th recognised him as Gaudi......but to late to save him!

A man who devoted his life to create something of himself for the poor died as an unrecognised beggar! 

Great detective work Michelle, it is indeed a breathtaking piece of architecture.

Ahhh do you know what @Robin4 I've been to the Sagrada Familia but what with the amazing exterior and the colours that the windows cast into the church, I never noticed the great detail on the doors! I also knew he was hit by a tram, but never knew the full story of his death.

Oh Katie, you're  not having pink tints in your hair are you!!!

Does look a bit like Wave Rock at Hyden in Western Australia though.......

The rock formations there are amazing. Here is one called 'The Hippo's Yawn'!!

Great guess @Ann72, but @Robin4 you've got it in one, it's the Wave Rock in Western Australia (obviously you have a slight advantage as it's in your neck of the woods so to speak!).

Twenty years since this photo was taken, and exposure to sunlight hasn't made the image any easier to decipher!

But with your keen eye to detail this one should be a 'gimme' for you!

I'm guessing it's in Europe for sure...
