GAME: Where in the world?

303194_MasonTrinca_1698_R.jpg

Hi everyone,

We haven’t had a game for a while, and I thought this one would be apt: in these times, we’re not travelling so much or so far, but what better opportunity to reminisce on our past adventures and have a bit of fun travelling virtually?

The name of the game here is to guess ‘where in the world’ the photo shows. It’s a cropped photo of a famous location… can you guess?

Whoever guesses correctly can then challenge us with a picture of their own to guess.

I’ll kick things off - I hope you enjoy 🙂

@Ann72 I've rotated your pic for you 🤓

Loving your stories of these places guys! And @Robin4 that Stiletto tuk tuk - that looks like my dream ride haha 😍

Gosh yes, I remember visiting some truly harrowing places in Vietnam. This place isn't in Vietnam, and it was pretty creepy but from what I understand it's not meant to be - the hands symbolise 'unrestrained desire'.

Ok so I've zoomed out slightly to give a new crop with a few more clues... see if you can work it out.

@Michelle53 tagging you too, in case you recognise it!

Thank you @Katie  for help with the picture.

This looks amazing, but I've never seen it or even seen it depicted, so I'm useless!

Very cool to see these amazing sights from around the world, though.

@Katie  I don't recognize it at all, except that is it traditional Buddhist imagery.

@Katie

Katie, thanks for starting up this thread, do you know I have tears when I post some of these pictures, they all mean so much to me. My absolute favourite is still to come, it will just require the right prompt to bring it out of me!!

Cheers.......Rob

Aw @Robin4, I'm happy to start this thread and I'm super glad you are enjoying it. To be honest I got the idea from one of my fellow Community Managers, @Anna, so she deserves all of the kudos, but I love an opportunity to share travel stories!

I'm intrigued to see what you've got to come 😁

Oh yeah, Thailand, a land of extremes. My answer,

Wat Rong Khun, The  White Buddha Temple, in Chiang Rai in northern Thailand.

We didn't get up that far Katie, we only went as far north as Bangkok. We did a bit of a river cruise on the Maenam....the river which runs through Bangkok and there are some stunning temples along that river.......

and some terrible tenements too

And fabulous cheap shopping.......

I wish we had seen Wat Rong Khun though, it looks so amazing. The detail is breathtaking!

Katie to these people nothing is 'a project', time and cost is of no consequence !

If it takes forever it doesn't matter, so be it, the only important thing is........it's soul, and whatever it takes to create that soul will be found and accomplished!

Amazing people!

Cheers........Rob

Yes, well done @Robin4, it certainly is Wat Rong Khun in northern Thailand. Here's the full pic - not as bright as yours as it was a bit of a hazy day when I went, and my pic is the view over the bridge that you can see in your picture.

Has anyone else got another one for us to guess? Extra points if you can keep us guessing!

@Michelle53 @Ann72 @Emilia42 @Sandra126 @Robin4

@Katie  @Robin4  Incredible!  I wondered if it was Thailand, because of the Buddha I could see in the second picture.  But my daughter and I went to Chiang Mai, not Chiang Rai.  Amazing photo and story about the place!

@Ann72 I loved Chiang Mai! I only visited the temple briefly on the way to catch the slow boat into Laos, so didn't really get much chance to explore Chiang Rai.

I also really wanted to go to Pai which is slightly further north of Chiang Mai, but I had run out of time on my visa 😔 Lots of reasons to go back again!

Hmmm ok I think I see a statue reflected there. I might need a clue...which continent is it? I'm guessing Europe or North America 😃

@Katie  You're getting warm.  Europe @Emilia42

@Ann72

Paris - Luxembourg gardens?

@Emilia42  Close but you've got to be more specific than that.
