Inside look: Superhost appreciation party

Achieving Superhost status is an incredible achievement, one that represents standout hospitality, responsiveness, and attention to detail. Meeting that high bar is a huge win. Continuing to meet that high bar is even more impressive.

In fact, fewer than 4,000 people have maintained consecutive Superhost status since the program was introduced five years ago. That’s some 60 months of zero cancellations and five-star reviews. At Airbnb, we decided that merited a party.

In March, we invited 12 of the most tenured Superhosts to Airbnb headquarters in San Francisco, California, to celebrate their hosting success. A sign greeted them at the event: “You’ve hosted the world. Now it’s time for us to host you.” That says it all!

Take a look at some photos of the party, below, and stay tuned—this event was so much fun, we plan to host more Superhost celebrations in the future. In the meantime, thank you to all of you who are Superhosts.

Johanna gave out Superhost pins and nametags and led the group on a tour of Airbnb headquarters, which includes meeting and conference rooms modeled after actual listings. Johanna was the perfect person to act as tour guide: She and her husband, Gian, are Superhosts themselves, and they first met when Joh was a guest at Gian’s home in Italy 7 years ago.

Does this look familiar? Superhost Kitty and her husband joined hands above a replica of their Airbnb listing, a “mushroom dome” cabin in California, on the fourth floor of Airbnb’s San Francisco headquarters.

I love being an Airbnb host and delight in my guest's enthusiasm and appreciation of me, their stay in 'Mandy' and the island of joy, Gozo. There are many Airbnb Superhosts in the Maltese Islands so a celebration and chance to meet my peers would be most welcome.....

I’m from the Bay Area and now living outside Philadelphia, in Bry Mawr. My husband and I are very proud  to be part of the Airbnb worldwide community.   The next time we’re in San Francisco we will be in touch to see if possible to have a tour of the site.

I started hosting in 2012 and have been a Super Host ever since the badge began.

I  never got an invitation to the party.  I have also wanted to get a Plus rating

but was told it is not available in my area.   We enjoy hosting and treat our

guests as we would want to be treated.  Hope an invitation comes for the

next party.

Great achievements always deserve recognition.  Well done.  I have a guest book available for guests to write in if they wish.  The main aim is for them to record any outstanding experiences, restaurants or activity for future guests to read up on.  It's interesting to see which guests take the time to write, obviously they comment on the facilities and us which is lovely and I really appreciate the feeback which can be much more personal than the online review.  The wonderful thing about this book is when you I'm  not having such a good day (health) or just over tired mid clean I will sit down and read thru the Guest Book.  It brings joy to my heart and returns the spring in my step and reminds me of why I do what I do.  I can thoroughly recommend having a Guest Book.
