Airbnb removed essential host features – internal names, read receipts & usable menus

Hi Airbnb Team & Fellow Hosts,

We’ve been Superhosts for over 10 years, managing multiple listings. Unfortunately, recent changes to the platform have significantly impacted our ability to host efficiently:

1. Internal Listing Names Removed
   We used to assign internal names to our listings (e.g. “Room A Garden View”) – only visible to us. Now this is gone, and we’re forced to guess based on images and titles. It’s chaotic when guests request room changes.
2. Read Receipts Only in English App
   I see when guests read messages (English app), but my husband – using the same account in German – does not. Why are core functions language-dependent?
3. Dropdown Menus Are a Nightmare
   Basic functions like “Change Reservation” are now hidden in small menus. Especially on mobile, it’s nearly impossible to use quickly and reliably.

We hope Airbnb reconsiders these decisions. Other hosts – are you experiencing this too?

For point (1) - are you using professional hosting tools? The multi-calendar allows you to choose an internal name.

For point (3) - the Change Reservation function is near the bottom of each booking (in the mobile version too). I think it's always been there (I can't recall it moving), although I can't be 100% sure!
