Since we host an apartment with a king bed I decided to do a search, in the area where our rental is, and noticed our listing...

Hey everyone!
One of my listing has a bedroom having a double bed at the ground level and a single bed on a mezzanine. I would like to highlight the mezzanine via the photo tour so to show the bed at a first glance, however there seem to be no option.
How can I correctly reach my goal, while not false advertising?
Hello @Francesco602
This is a tricky one and having a bed on a mezzanine is quite common here in France and also in Italy but unfortunately Airbnb has not created a Loft room as yet and adding a second bedroom can get you into trouble with a guest who expects totally privacy. A similar post came up recently so I'll let you read it to see if it helps:
If I were in the same situation, I would describe it as Lounge 2 maybe which allows you to select a bed type and you can also tick that it is a shared space which should cover you. If you decide to go with this idea and if you are with the new Photo Tour, this will mean that this bed in Lounge 2 will show up in the "Where you'll sleep first" FIRST and not bedroom 1. Many discussions on this topic when the PT first came out but the end result is that we cannot change the sequence in which the rooms appear on our listings. It's always the lounge that appears first even in the bedroom section. Then in the description part of the listing describe in more detail that the second bed is on a mezzanine overlooking the lounge, kitchen or whatever.
Having photos of this open plan arrangement will be very important so that guests are not surprised when they come and stay
All the best

Hello @Joelle43!
First, thanks for the long response and the time you dedicated to this.
Coming back to the topic: I agree, it's a shame that Airbnb doesn't have a 'mezzanine space' listed yet.
I had initially thought of creating a second bedroom, but that would be misleading as the mezzanine is part of an already existing bedroom!
I don't fully understand what are you referring to when you say 'Lounge 2'. I didn't see this option available on Airbnb.
I am not sure if you had a closer look at my listing eventually.
Hello @Francesco602
I saw that you had two listings and didn't know which one you were referring to so now that @Joan2709 has put up a picture of the mezzanine I can see that it overlooks the bedroom.
The way you have set up that bedroom on your listing is great - 1 double bed and 1 small double showing up with the mezzanine clearly in view - no room for complaint there😉
All the best
Joëlle
There is no way to do this currently using the photo tour as @Joelle43 noted. @Joelle43 uses the word "lounge". In the USA we call it "living room"...same thing. I'm not sure I would add a Living Room 2 just to indicate the mezzanine bed though, as that could be considered inaccurate by guests due to the layout of your listing. I agree that Airbnb should add "Mezzanine" and "Loft" as rooms to the tour, as many listings have them.
You can't change the order of rooms in the photo tour as @Joelle43 said, but you can change the order of photos within a room now. Go to Bedroom 2 in the photo tour and click and drag the photo you want to the number one position. I suggest moving the photo below to the number one position in bedroom 2. This clearly shows the main floor bed and the mezzanine bed all in the same photo. You can even add text to the photo to better explain that:
Your photo captions clearly explain the Bedroom 2 setup, but I would edit your description of the bedrooms a bit more to make it clear the mezzanine bed is reached from inside Bedroom 2:
BEDS ARRANGEMENTS:
In this listing, we provide the following beds:
2 x Double Beds (Master Bedrooms + Private Bathroom)
1 x Single Bed (On a Mezzanine)
1 x Sofa Bed (Living Room, On Request)
1 x Baby Crib (Master Bedroom, On Request)
BTW, We don't use the photo tour, as Airbnb doesn't allow the Host to choose which room/photos appear first when a guest clicks "All Photos." I believe Airbnb should make the Photo Tour optional and let the Host chose whether they want to use it or not. They should at least not mandate the Living Room (Lounge) be the first room that appears in the tour. Many listings have unique features (stunning views, gorgeous gardens, amazing outdoor spaces) that Hosts would want to highlight first in photos. Let's face it, most Lounges/Living Rooms have the same basic features, but not every listing has those unique features I mentioned.
Hello @Joan2709 ! Thanks again for the support! I see you're quite active in this community :).
Thank you very much for all the suggestions. I have applied the suggested modifications and changed the order of my pictures accordingly.
I'll try to revise my listing description soon as well! Thanks for the insights!
Here's hoping Airbnb will add Mezzanine and Loft as Rooms per @Joelle43 's suggestion! 😊
Luv your listings BTW!
