Booking my own apartment

Hi there,

I am running into an AirBnB error message when I try to book my own apartment.
Is this normal or can you people book your own hosted apartments?

You're right, for the integrity of the system it doesn't allow you to book your own listings.

You can go up to the point where you check availability on your own calendar from the guest side, which is useful when you want to check whether restrictions are correctly set up.

As per what @Shelley159 , if you use the "View" button on your listing, the system knows you are logged in and doesn't allow you to book your own property. It also will always show your listing at the top of search if you try to search while you are logged in:

If you want to determine a general idea of where you are appearing in search rank and see how your listing appears to a guest in search, go to a private browsing window (incognito mode) and type in your location and any booking dates you want to use. You'll then be able to proceed past the first page of the listing to see what the payment window looks like to a guest:
