Booking something with no reviews and new host.

Booking something with no reviews and new host.

There is a listing that looks good. However, it has no reviews and the host is new. I have found that this property does exist where they say and was previously posted on another vacation site. On that site it was under a different host and you can't book it, the calendar option is disabled.  I compared photos. It does seem like it is new photos and not just a copy and paste. Perhaps it changed owners??

Is it still safe to book something with no reviews and a new host?

Thanks, Ann

Hello @Anna17048

Yes that is a possibility indeed and the best solution is to just contact this new host via the Contact Host button on this listing and ask them if this is indeed the case.  Always a good way to sound someone out and you'll see by the reaction of the host if they can allay any fears you might have.

Having said that, your own profil has no reviews and contains the bare minimum of information too😉  Trust is key in this business and it works both ways and you may find that some hosts will not rent to you as you have no previous stays under this profil name.  Maybe you have another?

Let us know how it turns out,

All the best

Thanks so much for your feedback. Yes, I am new and haven't used airbnb before. Didn't think about my status:) We went ahead and booked the condo. After doing so it shows all the info for the check in process, amenities, address, etc…

Thanks for the support. Have a great day!

Hello again @Anna17048 and welcome to Airbnb then😉

Great to hear that everything went smoothly and thank you for letting us know😊

Have a great holiday!

Hi @Anna17048

the host sounds in a similar situation to you . You have no reviews and haven't filled in your profile so the host may have similar concerns about you.

complete your profile message the guests expressing why you want to stay with them and ask the questions that would make you feel comfortable

or just book with a five star superhost

Hello @Helen3

Just to let you know that @Anna17048 replied with a nice message to let us know that she has managed to book successfully but it's way down in the thread. Don't you hate the way replies aren't shown in the order in which they get posted?
