Can i verify as a host and keep nickname?

I want to send my id to become a verified host, but i also want to keep my nickname appearing instead of my id name for privacy. Is it possible?

I think verifyiing your ID will not change the name choosen for your Airbnb account ("Michael")

I am currently hosting a guest who only used an initial for his last name and he was still "verified." After he booked, I of course told him I needed his last name, but wtf?
