Create two listings, same address with distinct booking periods

Hello AIRBNB hosts, I am currently offering one space in my residence (2 beds, 2 baths, kitchen, dining, living room and patio). When I have guests in that space I stay in my basement - which has private entrance - which has 1 bedroom, kitchenette (no cooking - just microwave and small fridge) and large living room.

Since I live there full time I would like to add the basement as a second listing for the same address BUT it would never be offered at the same time as my current listing: I would offer the basement from November to March/April and offer my current listing from April/May to October. So no overlapping dates possible.

So technically I do not need to merge calendars - as both listing would never be available at the same time.

Is the duplicate listing the best way of doing this on AIRBNB? If so, my only concern with doing this is that, as indicated by @Mike-And-Jane0 , duplicating a listing automatically changes the cancellation policy to flex and adds instant book for both listings.

So my question is,  before I duplicate the listings so that I do not risk having someone auto-book either of them, is it safer to block all the dates available in my current listing and once I have both listings created, remove the instant book from both listings first and asap, then change the cancellation policy to what I have now (moderate) and finally add the calendar periods for both?

Hope this is not too confusing.... thanks for your input/insight

@Hélène266 A few thoughts

1) Use the duplicate function but then just go through each part of the listing to correct what needs correcting.

2) I would link the calendars then there is no way you will be without a place to live.

3) Until you actually publish the new listing there is no need to worry about it getting booked.

Thanks you so much! I do not need to this now but will keep you posted.
