DEFAULT SETTING OF FIRST 3 GUESTS NEED TO BE EXPERIENCED GUESTS

Hi.  I am really battling with Airbnb. I have been added onto a listing as co host with full access as I am running this listing for someone who has no experience with Airbnb.  There seems to be a setting for all Airbnb listings that the first 3 guests to book have to be experienced Airbnb Guests.  I have been asking for help for the last 2 days to change this setting, as it means that the listing is not active to all people looking for somewhere to stay in our area. I still don’t have an answer as to how to change this setting.  I have turned on instant booking with no filters and done everything I can to ensure that the listing is able to be viewed by anyone.  No luck.  If I try and view the listing it comes up with a message that not all guests can see this listing.  AAARGH please help me change this.

Hi @Kim4860

Just to check, did you turn off this "Require a good track record" setting?

Is it the Beestekraal listing that you're asking about? If so, I can't find it in the search results either. When did you list it? If it's very new, it's possible that it's just not showing because it takes up to 72 hours for a new listing to show in search results.

There don't seem to be very many Airbnbs in your area, so thankfully it should be relatively easy to find when it goes live!

Hi Shelley159.  Thanks for getting in touch.  Yes, that’s the listing.  I did turn off the “require a good track record” .  The listing was set up by the owner a week ago, and I have been adding info, photos etc over the last few days. Reading everything from Airbnb, it seems that it is automatic that the first 3 bookings have to be by experienced Airbnb guests.  Apparently it can be turned off, but as yet Airbnb haven’t been able to help me.  I will just leave everything for a while and see what happens. 🤞

Hi @Kim4860

I managed to find your listing just now when I used the search term "Vaalkop Dam", but it doesn't show when I type Beestekraal.

I don't know the area so I'm unsure how your guests are likely to search, but at least it's showing up!

That is great news!  Thank you so much for trying again.  Hopefully others can see it now.  I really appreciate your help. Xx

Hi @Kim4860!

Hope you are having a lovely day. Were you able to change the settings finally? Did Shelley's advice work? Let us know how everything is going in the next few days.🙂

Best wishes,
Alex

@Kim4860 Go to Your Listing Settings: As a co-host with full access, navigate to the listing in question.
Disable the "Experienced Guests" Filter:
In your listing's Booking Settings, look for the section related to "Guest Requirements".
Ensure the option "Only allow experienced guests" is turned off.
Check Instant Booking: Since you’ve already enabled Instant Booking, double-check that no additional filters (like guest requirements) are blocking the listing.
If these steps don’t resolve the issue, try contacting Airbnb support directly through their Help Center or via Live Chat to ensure that the listing visibility is set correctly for all guests.

You have to go to the Account settings to change this:

Experienced First Guest

Note: If your listing is published you may change this setting by going to Account > Your first guest > Any Airbnb guest

I would turn back ON the good track record slider on Instant Book though.
