Does anyone know of a way to swap a co-host to a host?
I am trying to help a friend with Airbnb. Currently her son is a host and has the listing on his profile. My friend is a co-host for the listing but she would like to swap this around. Is there a way of doing this without having to re-do the whole listing on her profile. The only way I can think of doing it is if we change the e-mail on her son's account (as he doesn't need it anymore) and he makes a new account and then we can add him as a co-host. Thank you

Hi @Jazmine19! 👋
Have you been able to understand how to do this finally? If not, I'm going to tag some members to see if they have ever had this issue: @Shelley159, @Frances3408, @Katarzyna87 and @Nathan146.
Hope they can help you to solve this question! 🙂

@Jazmine19 . I assume your friend is the Property owner? Airbnb are unlikely to grant a transfer of a listing, (which includes all the listing details and importantly, guest reviews), but you can try by using the Host Contact Us (son will need to initiate all this via their profile).
Airbnb are also cracking down on duplicate listings so making a new listing whilst the other is active isnt permitted.
Hopefully she has stored the listing photos and texts in files, if not, take copies now including screen shots of settings in case you have to start from stratch.
Let us know how you get on as I think this issue has been raised before. Good luck.

What is your friend hoping to achieve by doing this @Jazmine19 . This will help us advise her.
Of course it would have been better when setting up for your friend to set up the listing and add her son if she is the owner but it's too late to change that now .
You've probably already advised your friend that her son can change her to the main host ?

Thank you all for your help and suggestions.
Originally my friend's son set up and managed the airbnb profile on behalf of his mum which worked really well whilst he was still living at home but he has since moved out and she has now taken over being the main host. We are hoping to simplify the set-up so that she doesn't have to keep contacting him about it and also has access to the income details etc. @Frances3408 I didn't know that a transfer of listing existed!? @Helen3 How can you change someone to the main host!?
