Hi everyone!! I just had a beautiful inground saltwater pool built at my Airbnb. What do I need to do different? Are there s...
We have guests that call us directly and when I try to forward them to our listing on AirBNB they say they aren't seeing us. I have them search near Sonora, KY and it shows sites located 20 miles away. Not sure what the problem is, but this could be why we aren't seeing much traffic.
I did a search, and your listings didn't appear on the first three results pages, but I didn't look any further to see where they do appear. Although, I specifically stated Sonora, KY in the search criteria, I did get a lot of listings located in other towns. I know that listings with instant book are listed higher than those who don't have IB enabled, and that may be a contributing factor to where your listings are displayed in search results.
You can provide those guest the link to you homepage:

All 4 listings are also in the search system:
https://www.airbnb.com/s/homes?host_id=124443733&map_toggle=true
Thank you for these links, however I shouldn't have to do that. I should be able to tell them to search AirBNB in Sonora, KY and ours come up first.
@Charles1136 I disagree. If I want business, I am going to use any marketing strategy thats available to me to get my STR filled with guests.
@Charles1136 Are they searching blindly or with specific dates, guest numbers/other search criteria? A quick search with Jan 23 selected brings up your apartment.
I did a search with specific dates, guest numbers and Sonora, KY. The first 3 were Cub Run KY, Leitchfield KY, and Clarkson, KY then the fourth one was Sonora, KY and it was mine. Not sure why it wouldn't put the exact city first in a search.
@Charles1136 Because that's how Airbnb does things. They will list places in neighboring areas that all come up in the same search. And the search ranking algorithm isn't anything hosts are privy to or can figure out. It also probably has to do with a guest search or booking history as to which listings they are shown first.
And why do you think your listing should come up first when a guest inputs Sonora? Are you the only listing there?
Thanks for posting this question. It helped in the answers to just know how to sent my listing. I too am new to Airbnb. We have two properties and soon to add a third at Thanksgiving.
@Charles1136 I just did a search for Sonora, KY, using flexible dates and it came up as the 13th listing.
