Hi everyone
I'm a Superhost and been with airbnb for a couple of years.
I recently had to cancel a booking as we are still shielding from COVID. I had accidentally left two days open on my calendar, and someone found them and booked, so it was my fault. However, on my calendar, there is now a sign saying 'cancelled' across those 2 days. I want to get rid of the sign, so that I can block off those 2 days and not get any more bookings. At the moment I cannot block those dates. In fact, I don't know whether they are already blocked, or open. Any ideas?

Sarah, the dates are in fact blocked, this is Airbnb's way of punishing you for cancelling a confirmed guest reservation. They want the world to know you canceled a booking!
It's petty, of course it's petty, and if you get onto CX they will fix this for you and allow you to block those dates.
You have to understand the platform is automated and responds to certain protocols! It senses you are a 'bad' host because you have cancelled a guest reservation, and is not influenced in any way by circumstances outside of programmed EC's .
As you are in the UK try ringing this number and asking for their help..... +44 203 318 1111

@Sarah1120 I would go on as a guest and check they are blocked - In all likelihood they are. I would then move on and not waste my time contacting Airbnb as it appears to be a nightmare at present.
Hi Mike and Jane
Many thanks for responding. In fact I did finally get a reply from airbnb although it took a while. I liked your idea of pretending to be a guest to see if the dates are blocked. Apparently, according to airbnb, if the host does the cancelling, then those dates are automatically blocked on the calendar. That's fine, and makes a lot of sense, but nowhere can that information be found easily!
Cheers
