Around special events/festivals people are practically hunting down the bookings very aggressively.
Last year someone has managed to beat us to the punch and booked our property the minute it was available on his required date.
The problem: you can't block a date beyond the availability window and you need to be faster than the guests.
Ideally I'd be able to block any date outside the availability window.
Last year there was a loophole, we couldn't block the dates but we were able to set the price 2 years ahead, so I simply went ahead and put 9999 pounds per night. But now the calendar is only showing the available window.
Is there a way around that, what do other people do? This is nuts, I had to spend hours with airbnb support to get them to remove the penalty for canceling on a guest minutes after he made the booking.
