How long does it take for a new listing to become publicly visible?

I have recently listed my property, however i just cant seem to find it on airbnb.  It does not appear on the map or any lisitings from the area i search under.  Does it take a few days before it becomes active?  Any information would be greatly appreciated.

It should appear as soon as you publish it . Go to host /manage listings/calendar and more and look at your left down corner see if there is a green dot next to "listed" .

Thanks for the reply. I have checked this out and I have a green dot beside the word listed, so my understanding is that it should appear on search lists, but still no sign of it after 4 days

Hi Branka and Silvia, i too have just listed and cant find my listing anywhere on Airbnb. I did what you mentioned to Duncan (above comments) and found the Green Dot next to listed, but could still not find it on the website?? does it take a few days? i am very new to this.. Colleen.

@Colleen115, I was able to locate your listing on the map.

I searched for listings in Tamborine and moved the map slightly to show your specific area.

The map showed 168 listings, and yours appeared on page 7 at #124.

Your listing still has the "New" tag, which gives you a big boost in the search rankings. However, I am worried because ranking 124 of 168 is not very good, especially given that you are still getting the boost from being new.

The reason it is hard to find your listing is that if the map includes more than 300 listings, AirBnB only will show the "top" 300 listings. Right now, your listing is not high in the rankings, so it will often not be in the top 300.

You should use the "Start a Conversation" button to start a new discussion, and you can ask the hosts here for help in how to improve the ranking of your listing.

@Duncan19  It takes about 24 hours for new listings to be updated in the search database.  🙂

its been 4 days and it is still not showing up in any searches that I do.  I am struggling to find any way to contact airbnb regarding this matter also.

@Duncan19 Sadly, when I click on your profile I get an error code 404.  I'm not sure if that is indicative of the Community website of if there is a problem with your profile.   Can you log into your account?

I am regetting even starting this.  10 hours and still no listing.  I have been told so many different things including my listing is now live and available to others, it will take an hour to appear and now they tell me to wait 24-48 hours.  I don't trust the expertise.

My first advert disappeared, they said system bug.  The second I couldnt access the calendar and their support staff published it for me.  That disappeared too, another 'glitch'.  The 3rd appears to be ok but is not available to view to anyone other than me.  So how long is it really before it appears or is this one going to disappear too?  It's crazy that it's not pretty instant!

Should a cient be able to see it if I send them the correct refernce in a link?  I tried this and it said listing no longer available.  I don't want to be sitting here nect week still waiting if its a another bug!
