Hello everyone!
Whether you are a traveller searching for a comfy stay or a Host setting up your listing, outlining clear details of the space and the number of guests it can accommodate plays a crucial role in ensuring a comfortable stay.
Setting clear expectations on the maximum number of guests a listing can accommodate remains the most important aspect for both guests and Hosts.
As the number of guests your listing can accommodate differ from listing to listing and the type of stay you offer, I would like to ask our amazing Hosts : How many number of guests does your Airbnb accommodate?
Have you ever encountered situations where you had to accept more people on a guest's request?
Hi bhumika,
My place is a 2 bedroom upper floor of a 2 story house. It will comfortably accommodate 4 plus
a 5th person sleeping on the sofa in the living room. However, I have set the guest limit at 3 persons and prefer 1 or 2 persons. Much more quiet as I live downstairs.
Haven't been on Airbnb very long so have not come across a situation where a guest requested more persons than specified in the listing limit.
Hi @Bill1599 , thanks so much for sharing about it! It sounds like you've made sure there's enough extra space just in case its needed😉
It's great to hear that you haven't come across a request where guests would like to accommodate more people in the booking. However, I was curious that since you prefer limited guests, how would you deal with a situation where guests request to bring additional people?
Thanks for your message. Probably, I will politely inform the potential guest(s) that the
limit of 3 as stated in my listing is the max and that they should look for a place that
has a capacity that will fit their requirements.
As I also live in part of the building, I need to limit the number of guests for my own
comfort as well.
Your approach makes so much sense @Bill1599 , thank you for sharing it with us!
On a side note, your listing looks really neat and beautiful 😍 I noticed that you also offer long term rentals. Have you received any long term stay requests so far?
Hi Bhumika,
Actually, my main interest is longer term rentals of at least 30 day and up to 180 days and the listing is only available for shorter 1 week minimum rentals when there are no bookings for a long term rental within the next 30 days or so. Because of these booking restriction, I do not expect to have many bookings through Airbnb.
I have been on the site for about 4 months now and have had 1 long term 30 day booking and 1 shorter booking so far. However, the listing was not always available on Airbnb as it is also listed and booked elsewhere on sites that target ong term rentals.

That's quite interesting @Bill1599 ! Thanks so much for sharing it with us.
Since we're talking about longer stays, I also wanted to share a few Airbnb articles in case they help you get more information on listing settings related to longer stays on Airbnb : All about hosting longer stays. Hope it helps 🌻

All the best and keep in touch 😊
In special situations, maximum 10 persons by putting in 2 more beds in the hall.
The price for this on request.
Hi @Bjørn-Yngvar0 , Sounds like you have already special arrangements in place, in case guests request to accommodate more people. How often do you receive such requests? 🌻
Hi @Bhumika, sorry for the late reply.
I never had requests to accommodate more than 8 guests.
If I had, I would explain that 8 persons is enough for the apartment
Thanks for sharing @Bjørn-Yngvar0 , that's a great approach !
On a side note, has it been a busy hosting season for you? 😍
